HE WHO WATCHES IS OUT NOW! Please go check it out if you are at all interested in puzzle games. It is a banger (self certified) and something that I really put my heart into. Day one reviews go so freaking far, if you like the game please do leave a review! I even narrated a trailer for it 😬

He Who Watches is not getting nearly enough reviews and downloads for how amazing this new puzzle game is. I haven't seen 3D logic explored so ambitiously before, complete with strong vibes and deeply satisfying moments. Supports all of Win/Mac/Deck! store.steampowered.com/app/1070500/...

I'm sure all 750,000 of those IPs represent people who have given their informed consent to share their bandwidth with reputable residential proxy services, in return for services whose value and costs they are fully aware of.

Today in scraper-land, during a three hour window, CourtListener got hit with 5.3M requests from 750k unique IP addresses with 160 user agents in the span of a couple hours. Site stayed mostly up and we've furthered our protections. Unpleasant!

I know that "sparkles" as the common AI icon is pretty easy to make fun of. It's pretty silly. But remember we've been using a cloud to represent "the internet" for decades now. It's the exact same "you don't need to know, it's just magic" vibe. I've been making fun of that thing the whole time!

Every year, I do a list of 10 games I loved that year -- this is 2025! My guess is you'll know some of them, and also that you won't know some of them. Please let me tell you about these fine video games!! (Links are mostly to Steam, but some are on console too.) /thread

I have to impress upon you that Sudokuvania is a fully realized Metroidvania. It is merely expressed as 20+ integrated variant sudokus. There is nothing else like this. Solving it is one of my proudest achievements. It is a $0 website. Use a laptop. sudokupad.app/6u61fsw0di?s...

I'm working on cleaning up my withered online presence, starting with my homepage. Going back over long-ago (now private) blog posts really hits home that I just didn't know how to write like a grown-up until age 30 or so. Really wish I could have figured that out earlier.

3rd party URL shorteners popped into existence because Twitter, for an absurdly brief time early in its life, would credit you more characters in your tweets. They stopped that pretty quickly, instead running all links through their own URL shortener instead for outbound links.

3P link shorteners are unreadable, take time, track users, and offer no benefit to the person clicking them. And they add another point of failure, as Google's shutdown makes clear. 3P shorteners, like 3P JS asset CDNs, are just a pox on internet stability and privacy.

There's nothing "centrist" about speaking plainly in the language of your audience, rather than the language of your friends. I am definitely among those who believe progressives need to speak more like normal people in public life. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

washingtonpost.comDemocratic troubles revive debate over left-wing buzzwordsFrom “intersectionality” to “equity,” many say jargon is alienating key voters. But progressives say inclusive language is vital.

We created a safer AV1 decoder, rav1d, by forking the dav1d decoder and rewriting the C code in Rust. It works great except our Rust is 5% slower than the C. We're not sure why so we're offering a $20k bounty to figure it out and make the Rust code faster. www.memorysafety.org/blog/rav1d-p...

Hard to think of a better use of my energy than keeping Wikipedia strong and healthy for the next generation.
