Oh boy....scathing....and I laughed out loud as I read "It is not hard to see the source of this fierce pride in the province. The epically long 111 year history of Alberta means that most people can trace their ancestry and allegiance as far back as their parents." But soon I stopped laughing...

Sigh. Yes, we learned that in the most right-wing province there is still only a 25% fringe who wanted to separate. While I'm glad that they are now toothless (unlike MAGA), I am disappointed the Alberta stereotypes actually played out in the data - more than half want "immigration reform".

In my world, Canadian PMs have had approval ratings as low as 22% (Justin Trudeau), 32% (Stephen Harper) and an all-time low of 12% (Brian Mulroney) before losing their jobs. But Trump is almost at 40%. What is the real problem?

Why aren't more people talking about the recent meeting of PM Carney and President Zelensky? In identifying our commonalities and links with Ukraine, our PM just put Trump and the US - implicitly, subversively - into the same category as Putin and Russia. I am still processing the boldness of this.

Labour Day weekend for us often includes a stop at Dock Lunch in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Beautiful Georgian Bay of the great Lake Huron is a gem, and feeling so grateful to live in a province that holds 1/5 of the world's fresh water!

How's that 50% tariff on Canadian pulp and paper products working out? What about "we don't need them, they need us"? Right, we're irrelevant. Ok then, never mind, I'll just go pour myself a glass of Barnburner Ontario Whiskey (yes, like the lake).

This is just getting sad. Hurling insults and petty crap is what he meant by "there is worse to come" than tariffs? Sounds like desperation. Pathetic, but hopefully a sign of the beginning of the end, when the gales of November come early.

You are up to date.
