I started a Marvel page on Twitter and i’m having a much better time with that. It helps that that fanbase is a lot more sane and a lot less hypocritical but also they just have more interesting discussions and it has made me hop back into Marvel’s comics (Just started the new Daredevil run) 🧵(1/2)

So with that I guess i’ll once again be on Bluesky a lot less until I find some passion to talk more about DC or move my Marvel account over to here (I already have three, idk if I want to add another unless I swap this account into it.) TTFN ✌🏽

WB-Discovery was carrying over $40 billion in debt. Now Skydance-Paramount-WB is carrying *$80 billion* in debt, and layoffs are already being promised. It was a stupid deal and everyone knows it, and a total wipeout is not outside the real of possibility.

Wait If Marvel Unlimited is shutting down then are they replacing the app with something else? I’ve heard from so many people that the app was a way for them to get into comics/keep up with them because of how expensive collecting comics is. It just doesn’t seem smart to get rid of it.

Growing up, WB was my shit. Still is. Kids WB, Cartoon Network, DC, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, The CW. It has played such an influential role in my life and is the reason I still have such a vivid imagination today. So this kinda stings my heart quite a bit.

It’s actually crazy how everyone was against the merger and those slimy politicians still let it go through. God we need to get rid of them. Fuck them, fuck newscum, fuck that one guy, fuck the Ellisons with a side of go fuck yourself and fuck off and —-, fuck zaslav, fuck skydance.

I like how against the grain of authority the DCU feels. It’s like if they took the Cap trilogy and just made it into an entire universe. It’s not necessarily saying hey, do whatever you want but It does have a lot to say about blindly following orders.

My DCU ranking including the Non-Canon/canon-adjacent stuff: 1. Superman 2. The Suicide Squad 3. Lanterns 4. Peacemaker S2 5. Peacemaker S1 6. Blue Beetle 7. Supergirl 8. Krypto Saves the Day!

Superman 2025 is actually a great adaptation of the character when you actually understand Superman as character and not just a singular trait for him to represent.

If you enjoy: - The Absolute universe - The Ultimate universe - Insomniac Marvel universe - MCU - DCU - Any adaptation ever, really Then it’s really weird to shit on something for not being accurate. That doesn’t make you some kinda comic expert or purist, it’s just hypocritical.

And you really do just stunt growth. Harley Quinn is not accurate to any comic book because she was created in an adaptation. They changed the story and did something different and it had wide impact. You don’t get Harley Quinn if the people making the story aren’t able to take liberties.

I love comics and I want it to be a thriving industry. I think the best way to do that is to engage with the material both written and adapted, in a meaningful way and engage with casual fans in a meaningful way. Welcome them into the world of comics, don’t annoy them out of it.

Not only on the fandom but also on the characters and brands. You’re advertising that comics aren’t worth reading because you’re telling people a show sucks because it’s not offering the exact same jingling keys but never speaking on the nuances that make the book just as good as the adaptation.

You’re telling casuals that comics don’t have that nuanced storytelling that they’re looking for because instead of actually talking about it you want to show a colorful panel and complain that the adaptation uses a different color.

I also just love superheroes and comic books. Lanterns has brought so many new readers, so has Superman, the MCU, and even stuff like Peacemaker. The thing about the comic accuracy people is that they hate growth of any kind.

They argue they want stakes and nuanced storytelling but cringe at any attempt to do so, especially if it changes the status quo. Now obviously, it still has to be good but if you’re shitting on an adaptation without even seeing if it’s good out of its own merits, you’re placing a negative impact.

I’ve softened a lot on adaptations doing their own thing. Of course I want accurate stories, characters, settings and so on. But I also want good, passionate, and creative filmmaking. I’m not going to get that if they’re being forced to copy something.

Wolverine is yet another reminder this year to experience things for yourself and to not take the opinions of others seriously. It’s not phenomenal by any means but it’s a fun Wolverine experience and a solid 7.5/10 which IS a good score if you’re not an idiot.

Critics serve a necessary purpose but at the end of the day these are people with their own opinions and their own agendas and it’s not rare for a critic to lie or completely misunderstand what they’re criticizing. What they say holds no objective truth.

All that to say, if you’re not going to experience something then keep your opinions to yourself, otherwise you just no respect for any sort of creativity. It’s fine to look at it and decide it’s not for you, but you have ZERO stake in the conversation if you haven’t experienced it.

Story is alright. I enjoy it more than Spider-Man 2 but put it on par with Miles Morales. It has a strong start but gets noticeably weaker as it goes on. I think their handling of Jean also kinda sucks. I like her character but hate the relationship.

Logan is one of the best characters Insomniac has adapted. They really do a great job at capturing the hard ass with the bit of softie on the inside. That’s another thing reviewers blatantly lied about.

Having an absolute blast with the combat. It’s not as fluid as Spider-Man but it definitely suits Wolverines brutishness and it’s only repetitive if you’re too uncreative with your combos. That’s not a flaw of the game but rather the gamer.

Following the success of Lanterns, DC should invest more into pushing Green Lantern back to A-List status. Give John and the corps a movie, revive Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Give GL some more animated movies, Maybe give Guy a solo project. + My Adventures with Green Lantern otw.

DC can def push a character that was previously unpopular/unfavarable into popularity/favorability, they have that ability. We’re seeing it with Hal on Lanterns and we’ve seen it with Peacemaker. The best thing DC can do is push their characters!!

I think Gunn understands that given that he’s still trying to Push Milly’s Supergirl despite the failure of the film and I think that’s a really good thing. Marvel would have never reached its success if they gave up at first failure.

Kyle Chandler single handedly convincing me to drop the stupid “kryptonian cafe” branding in favor of Green Lantern but is it because I find him really hot or is it because I love Green Lantern enough to run a dedicated fan page for it. Definitely the former.

Now that I think about it, I don’t know if there’s ANY other character I love enough to run a fampahe for besides Superman. But at the same time I really don’t want to do this anymore lmao.

I took one peep at twitter beyond my daily post because I wanted to see the tweets in regards to today and man the whole timeline is just doom posting because Wolverine got a 77 on Metacritic and very quickly was I reminded of how dumb and reactionary everything is over there.

One year ago, a nazi jizz rag got shot. The nazi cheeto and his cronies tried so hard to make him a martyr and had people lose their jobs for criticizing and making fun of him. This just made people joke about him more and now the jizz rag and his stupid face are nothing more than a meme. The End
