Man of the people, Nigel Farage, seems to believe that working class men, in a working men's club, watch Channel 4 Racing. That will be a surprise to ITVRacing, who have been covering horse racing since 2017. Who wrote his speech?

I cannot understand why the Tories and Reform believe that Brexit has been sold down the river. Sovereignty and being rule-takers is pure straw-man sophistry. The deal will be good for growth and good for young people. Perhaps Nigel will tell us what he is specifically against? Maybe not.

Opening remarks by PM Starmer: "Moving on from stale old debates, looking forward, not backwards, focusing on what we can do together to deliver in the national interest. That is what today is all about. We are agreeing a new strategic partnership fit for our times." ~AA #UKEUSummit

VAR isn't the problem. The problem is the truly inept set of referees that monitor the system. Henderson should have been sent off. He deliberately handled the ball outside of the area, which is a red-card offence on its own, never mind him stopping a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg are making a huge strategic mistake in championing Trump. The USA isn't a plutocracy and Trump has a date-stamp on his forehead. People aren't stupid: a backlash is coming.

💣 NEW 💣 Today, we can reveal that the director of Luxe Lifestyle – a firm that bagged a £25.7m PPE contract during Covid, when it had zero employees and a huge debt – has been arrested. We’ve been pushing for this for five years. goodlawproject.org/vip-lane-arr...

Businesses are complaining about the extra national insurance contributions they have to pay. Have they ever done an analysis of how much it costs to have workers off sick, because of a failing NHS? Benefits will accrue when the workforce is healthier.

Conundrum: if the rich avoid taxes, why should the price of increases in defence spending be placed on the backs of poor people when, in effect, the increase is intended to protect the assets of the rich?

The Establishment will try to tell you that wealth taxes don't work; that they have never worked. They can and must be made to work; but they won't tell you that. The economy will not stand massive inequality. Tax wealth more and income less.

The fact is; having a wealth tax is now part of the narrative on both sides of the Atlantic. The UK and US public have been taken for fools whilst the wealth of the mega-rich seems to grow exponentially. Gross inequality is unacceptable in a mature democracy. The fight back begins today.

My friend and MP, Imran, telling it like it is.

Labour MP Imran Hussain says the "most severely disabled people in my constituency and millions across the UK have watched in disbelief as politicians debate cuts to the support that enables their very survival, leaving many at breaking point"

Every Labour government always improves the living standards of those with least, lifts more children out of poverty, revives the NHS, schools and local councils. In this dark economic moment, it takes trust to believe Starmer and Reeves too will, in the end, do as Labour always does.

theguardian.comI believe Labour cares about those in need, but it must show that. It can’t go on like this | Polly ToynbeeEvery Labour government improves the lives of those with the least. But the framing and the targeting of these cuts is wrong, says Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee

Eventually, Americans will be able to see with their own eyes and in their own lives what Trump has done to the US and the wider world. Their daily experience will expose him for what he is: a confidence trickster who has made them poorer and less safe. The only question is when.

theguardian.comWhy is Donald Trump crashing the US economy? Because he’s high on his own supply of fake news | Jonathan FreedlandAddicted to Fox News and outlets even more extreme, the president finds justification for actions disastrous to Americans and the world, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

They say that the stock market has fallen by $4 trillion. Mmmm: I wonder who gains when the stock market miraculously recovers and someone has bought stocks at a very low price? The coffee smells nice, lol.
