🎉Lab Shevchenko is celebrating its 25th anniversary @mpi-cbg.de! Starting out in some empty rooms back in 2001, we are very proud of what we've achieved in the years since. More than 280 research articles published, a large lively alumni family and a wide collaboration network all over the world.

We are on a HUPO Conference in Singapore. Looking forward to get in touch with researchers from all over the world, learn news and present our own recent #proteomics results! Hope also to have a bit of time to see the modern Lion City!

It is always a pleasure to meet Lab Shevchenko alumni at a conference and exchange last scientific news. An unscheduled lab reunion at the IMSC26 in Lyon with Prof. Dr. Ayciriex and Dr. Lavrinenko. We are very proud of your success and career development!

"Absolute quantification of neuroinflammation markers in human CSF reveals personalized signatures of progressing neurodegeneration"- great lecture by our very own Andrej Shevchenko at the 26th IMSC in Lyon. The presentation triggered a very lively discussion at the Biomarker session!

Perfect end of summer break - we joined 26th International MS Conference (IMSC) in Lyon! A lot of news! The event was opened with a Cowbell gong🔔🐄, a nice idea of Swiss co-organizers. Surprised with affiliation on the badge: 🤨 Stays mysterious "M" already for MassSpec or still Molecular Biology?. ..

🎉Happy Birthday, dear MPI-CBG! We celebrate a remarkable 25th Anniversary of our research institute! Three generations of our active lab members - Andrea (since 20 years in the lab), Ignacy (since 6 years) and eager young mind PhD student Viditha - can't wait to welcome guests❤️

Congratulations to Anna Kristin Schöfl (MANOS Gymnasium, 11 grade), the youngest scientist in our lab! Supervised by Andrej and Andrea, she studied lipoproteins in blood plasma as part of her high school research project (Wissenschaftliche Jahresarbeit), and successfully defended her thesis 💪

We have a visiting student from the Institute for Biochemistry and Experimental Oncology in Praha in our lab @mpi-cbg.de. Soodabeh Abbasi Sani is learning mass spectrometry-based methods & metabolomics. Happy to share our knowledge with motivated eager young minds of tomorrow!

📣Extended abstract submission deadline - 10th July! Join us on Proteomics Forum EuPA in Wuerzburg! proteomic-forum.com/programme-ab...

eupaproteomics.bsky.social@eupaproteomics.bsky.social

Just one week remains until the abstract submission deadline for #EuPA2026! Don't miss the opportunity to present your research, exchange ideas, and be part of the scientific programme of the Proteomic Forum 2026. 👉 Submit your abstract: proteomic-forum.com #ProteomicForum #Proteomics

Do we really understand glycoproteins? On Thursday seminar @mpi-cbg.de “Chemical Precision Tools to Dissect Protein Glycosylation", Prof. Benjamin Schumann (TU Dresden) talked about complex world of glycoproteins and the tools his lab is developing. Looking forward to new collaborative projects!

Seeking a post-doc for the LaJoie lab at the Human Technopole, Milan, Italy! We are looking for candidates from the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, and proteomics, who are interested in studying protein interactions of the nucleus 🤓 lnkd.in/dTG2CgXF

Together with other Dresden scientists we presented our latest research in liver diseases at the SBMC2026 conference in Mannheim this week. The event organized by Liver System Medicine consortium (LySiM Cancer) brought together a thriving research community! @mpi-cbg.de

🚀 What an amazing #SBMC2026! From inspiring welcome addresses, to the MTZ Award ceremony, scientific sessions, panel discussion, poster sessions, and Poster Awards — thank you to everyone who made these three days so special. Wonderful science, great discussions, and even better networking! 📸✨

Happy to announce that our very own Andrej Shevchenko is talking at the 26th IMSC in Leon "Absolute quantification of neuroinflammation markers in human CSF" Don't miss! Last minute abstract submission is still possible till May 22nd. Program and details: www.imsc26.com

Happy birthday, Max Planck! #OnthisDay #OTD

🐰For over 20 years now, our famous MassSpec Easter Bunny makes a special visit to @mpicbg, spreading joy and sharing sweets with our colleagues in the neighbouring labs. So lovely to see two beautiful assistants, PhD student Viditha and postdoc Silvia, helping The Bunny to carry out the mission.

🤖Our proteomics team visiting Waters GmbH lab in Eschborn. We tested robotic liquid handling station Andrew+ and brought home The Legendary Andrew Socks.🧦 Many thanks to Dr. Tobias for perfectly organized demo!

What do Phe, HbA1C, C6H12O6 and pTau mean and have in common? Introduction at Friday seminar @mpi-cbg.de made by Andrej is always entertaining! Hint: this time it's about mass spec and diseases diagnostics. And if you know the answer you get an extra 🍺 for the MPI Meet-the-Speaker beer session😉

Fantastic talk "Proteome-wide Absolute Quantification of Biofluids" from our PhD student Viditha Rao on Friday Seminar @mpi-cbg.de! Development of a new ms-base method and its application in molecular diagnostic of neurodegenerative diseases - it's a very strong research work. Congratulation!

Happy to present the latest results of our omics projects @dgms2025.bsky.social conference in Leipzig. On the digital poster session, our colleagues Silvia and Ignacy talked about quality control in shotgun lipidomics and absolute quantification in ms-based clinical proteomics. Stay tuned!

Our visit to High Throughput Proteomics Facility at Charite Berlin is the absolute highlight of this week! We looked at Beckman Biomek robotic station and learnt how much automation of lab routine changes research. Will bring this experience @mpi-cbg.de! Big thanks to the hosts Michael and Manuela

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Vannur Garikapati on new step in career development! Following successful postdoctoral research in lipidomics @mpi-cbg.de he'll be building new mass spectrometry Facility at the Medical School Uni Bielefeld. We are very proud of you, Vannur! Stay in touch❤️
