"The soccer scenes are especially disappointing, though, since the filmmakers’ use of AI only creates a disturbing Uncanny Valley effect."
@simonsaybrams.bsky.social reviews KUNG FU SOCCER:
wrote an essay when i was a kid to learn "compare & contrast" and i remember it being just me puzzled at why some cartoons insisted on being ugly and why others had made the choice to look good
i would later learn that these good cartoons were "anime" and i was a huge fucking dweeb (weeaboo)
actually this is an incredibly annoying vocation because of the one useful thing it does too - the pinging of loot nearby has already worn out on me after about 2 hours
the whimpering is a new one, guy about as tall as i am walked by and i said "good afternoon" and he did a high pitched little whimper? moan? you tried, big dog
DOLORES DEI - We don't have anything to talk about anymore. Every combination of words has been played out. The atoms don't form us anymore: us, our love, our unborn daughters...
watching the compilation version of kizumonogatari for the first time and man the subway scene is still SOOO funny i don't think they've condensed it at all
it really is tough to like specific monster hunters, in the sense that your friends aren't always down with the same ones
i really want to replay world and 4u, but enthusiasm is lower than for just waiting until ascendance
holy shit, and this is animated on an independent budget?? disney really were the weights around the team's ankles (unsure who's come along with Dana since then)
