90% of Americans, republican and democrat, agree on what to do about gun control: Universal background checks and waiting periods. We could probably get mandated state licensing and insurance as well, but nobody is even trying.

Many liberals already own guns. That’s a fact that right wing folks never understood. We don’t hate guns. We just think there should be licensing, more responsibility & care at home to protect children from access to them and red flags laws to remove guns when someone is in a mental health crisis.

What the hell can I write that could even approach what I am feeling. The checks and balances have been broken almost from the beginning because they failed to take account of moneyed people and corporations buying almost all the representation. It is a game and we are not playing it.
