This. This is one of the best ways to get kids interested in science. Conversations. Awesome piece by NPR.

NPR asked an aspiring scientist in Philadelphia to interview an adult who is living his dream about his career in conservation science.

These guys followed us, and we're now following them. Their song "Lights Down" is legit. Seriously. If ya'll ever want to do a science song, we'll play it on the show <3 We support indie artists. We love a great new music discovery as much as we love a great new science discovery

Thinking about Sam Neil today reminded me of a story. One time, my friend and I got so inspired by JP, we wanted to clone a dino. We took a chicken egg (grocery bought) added some skin from a dead frog, and waited. Then we got impatient and nuked the thing. It ended about as well as you'd imagine

We're still here! It's been very hectic buuuuut we have a new fun thing for y'all. Little serialized snippets of a subject! This first one is all about the CERN's Large Hadron Collider. Check it out! www.tiktok.com/t/ZTSnR7VcU/ Available on IG and YT as well (link in profile)

I read all 50 of @sciam.bsky.social's Icon interviews. @naomioreskes.bsky.social was my favorite. While nearly all others prattled on about science being "fine" or "outstanding" & told young scientists not to be discouraged, she was honest about our moment. www.scientificamerican.com/article/naom...

Don't forget, our new episode is out! All the bands I've seen at warped today have listened to it. MXPX, Hot Mulligan, 3OH3!, and Newfound Glory! Okay they probably haven't but that would be rad if they did. Because the raddest people listen to the show. Be rad. laurenandpjdoscience.carrd.co

In honor of the Monaco Grand Prix today, here's some cool F1 science for you (a thread): F1 cars create enough downforce to push the car into the ground at 6.5x the force of gravity. Theoretically, a car travelling 150km/h could drive upside down (I'm surprised Redbull hasn't done this)

The drivers are crazy athletic. Their necks have to withstand 6.5x gravity (most drivers can lift 80-90lbs with their neck), 100+ temperatures, millisecond reactions, and a heart rates between 160-190 spiking to 200bpm through a 90 minute race. I think I'll stick with playing F1 on my xbox.

Did you know that time may not exist? There's tons of research about time and how it's a man made construct rather real. Which means, Mondays may not actually exist! "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once" -Buckaroo Banzai (shhh. Yes I know)
