I’m assuming that everywhere a lane has been removed cyclists will then need to gather and ride slowly in traffic instead.

Friday we ride! Critical Mass Toronto!!!!! Meet at Gwendolyn Macewen Parkette (near bloor and walmer). Our bike lanes are being removed, it's scary times, Halloween attire encouraged, as are lights and bringing friends. Original photo by @joshuabest

10 years ago we built the Worthington Dr. Lane House for a graphic artist, in the back yard of her mom's post war bungalow. We created a rain garden / water tank that all of the roof water flowed into, and used reclaimed wood accents inside.

This is our "kit of parts" concept for small lot single stair infill. This is the version with shallow attached buildings (no side yard) in the front portion of the lot. "T" massing or "Split" massing with a lane townhouse.

On detached home blocks where less turnover is planned you can allow small apartment buildings ‘citywide’ at a lower density with side yards and the same “T” massing - (using existing sewers, roads, parks etc)

We don’t know a lot about the Conservative majority yet, but the white supremacists sure seem to think ‘their’ side won, and it’s open season.

After a group of white supremacists gathered at the BC Legislature the morning after the election, I asked premier-to-be Lorne Doerkson about the incident and his plan to fight hate - you can read more about that here: thetyee.ca/News/2026/10...

Well, looks like we’ll be pivoting back to working with individual cities that actually want more / better housing options (and not the laggards who were being pushed by the province). Hopefully the Cons will see the business case for elevator regulation reform.

Outside of Vancouver I still feel like there is potential for “car light” single stair infill, and i hope that the new gov will see this as equally worthy of support vs simply de-regulating sprawl.
