as a compromise with the people worried about "men who pretend to be trans," men who enter the women's restrooms should be punished by being forced to take estrogen.

Me after my personal assistant carries out the task I instructed them to: Wow my personal assistant really went rogue there wow somebody should stop them no idea how this happened

Unfortunately the Australian government has bought in wholesale to the assumption that ai is inevitable or “the future” and particularly want to incentivise investment in and the construction of data centres. Im sure this will be super good. Our “left wing” government so opposition policy is worse

I think that he should've had Altman arrested for running a company committing cybercrimes

As far as I can tell, Effective Altruists are Utilitarians who are relieved that in the Trolley Problem, saving 5 people justifies their innate desire to kill the one guy

The same thing but it’s Good Trailcams

"An account with this avatar was blocked" post. You open it and it's a long forgotten picture of your grandmother as a younger woman. You must have been a child at that age. She looks happier than you ever knew her. You could not possibly have memories from that age. The TL refreshes and it's gone

The photo shows Graham Platner staring soulfully but manfully towards the horizon, surrounded by his true love, the sea, which is as indifferent to consent as he is.

Your programs will fall down if your taskbar is not at the bottom. This why sidebars and topbars are unnatural and against gods will

even if it makes sense i think putting the computer operating system taskbar on the left or right side is weird. its unnatural. god didnt make the software that way

We are going to kill two birds with one stone by unleashing screen-addicted children to commit domestic terrorism against data centres. I am projecting a 362% increase in quality of life

When people talk about taking kids' devices away w/o addressing how they have fuck all else to do, I think about the insane shit all the bored suburban kids I knew got up to before cell phones You can't just take their phones away or they're gonna get into making homemade napalm & burn a field down

Just think of the productivity gains here. They’re good, but there’s simply no way humans can outpace ai at sending useless emails

Frances: Meh and Loving It@francesmeh.reviews

friend at a big tech co just told me that her company's chatbot and their client's chatbot have been caught in a mutual support loop for several days that has generated nearly 20k emails

This kind of thinking really annoys me. Scientific advancement is not a certain thing! Just because you can imagine something, doesn’t mean that it’s feasible or even possible. Easier to understand when talking about travel back in time, but for some reason not AGI or nuclear fusion

Yup. Another pathological pursuit, and they just toss it in there as a given. An assumption of it being a viable technology.

When I was in school we had one student called glog and he used to drool onto the table and then when there was a puddle of drool we would chant “glog’s bog, glog’s bog, glog’s bog”
