2 buses there & 2 buses back, £12 in fares and a journey that took an hour each way rather than 15 mins. I don't think I will be moving to public transport to get to work any time soon.

Let's give a hand to the eclipse

If you enjoyed this eclipse, you should pop the date of the next one in your colander.

My boy graduated today. I am so proud of him.

happy 9th anniversary to the day we watched Zendaya fall madly in love with Tom Holland in real-time

So nice to have all the kids together.

Breakfast and second breakfast cakes for my daughter's birthday today. She wants a slice with some custard 😆

Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

Mushroom hunting on my walk today.

Mushroom spotting on woodlands walk today.

My old friend from primary school is over from Australia for a visit. We had a great day catching up.

Drew this twelve years ago. Nothing has changed. He still does it.

Middle son's birthday today. We are away from home so had to make do with packet mix brownie.

One for @urbanprehistorian.bsky.social - I was reading this morning about the Asda 'Price Promise' stones that were erected across the country in the 90s loststonesofasda.wordpress.com Some are definitely on the way to being archaeological monuments, such as this one in Trumfleet, South Yorkshire

Been to see Fantastic Four. We all enjoyed it. Not often the kids all want to see the same film , so was nice to have something we all could watch.

Son1 is on his way to his end of year ball @physicsuol.bsky.social

Driving home through Southwell, and it was just so pretty, pastel coloured, slightly misty sky, lush green trees and rolling fields. Golden hour makes everything look good.

The kids are home. I am so happy.

The plumber is here to fix the toilet. I have no idea what to do with myself. I've made him a cup of tea and now I am hiding in the living room. Why am I so socially awkward.

Oldest is home from Uni for the Easter break, so I have all 3 kids home. Happy Mother's Day to me!

Weird light flying over the house. Thought it was the moon behind a cloud until it started moving. Apparently it's a rocket venting fuel. Very cool.

What the heck. It's snowing ❄️

Birthday cake

When the birthday girl doesn't actually like icing.

This gravy is 400 years out of date 😬

Must be vegan...

Daughter is on a trip to a local university today. She's pretty sure she does not want to go to Uni. She doesn't want the debt. It's so sad that at (nearly) 15 she finds this the main reason not to go.

Oh yes! Something to look forward to.

My Wensleydale is pretty happy.

Winter sun is lovely. I wish it would warm up though.

Dropped Son1 back at Uni. Got him a big shop so hopefully he will be ok. I will miss having him around.

Family get together has been postponed due to illness. I now have to deal with the massive cherry delight I made.

The joy of the boxing day leftovers sandwich. ❤️

I have had 2 Christmas dinners this week. Absolutely love it.

"I'm going to the toilet to think about physics." I think poor son1 is struggling to do his assignments while he's home for Christmas.

Walk at lunchtime today. I love being able to get into the woods.

Ooh today's date 6-12-24 How very satisfying.

Son1 messaged yesterday to ask if I thought son2 would like a crowbar for Christmas. I mean yes he probably would like one, but no, please do not get him one.

I hate feeling optimistic. It just means everything’s about to go wrong.

Well we are pretty happy with the result. Another great series of @britishbakeoff.bsky.social What am I going to do on a Tuesday now?!

Stop being mean about Dylan! His poor sad face. I can't take it. #GBBO

What is Noel's jumper? He's such an icon.

#GBBO it's the @britishbakeoff.bsky.social final!! Hot chocolate and snacks at the ready.

Why I am happy not to own a pet.

Dinner time walk. Pretty but slippery.

Especially when it's cold.
