No “clean CR” exists when Trump defies Congress and unilaterally guts programs—from law enforcement to pediatric cancer research to clean energy projects.
Republicans want Democratic cover to keep breaking the law. Democrats won’t play along.
I’m just dumbfounded by people’s belief that 1) midterms will be held, 2) the elections will be free and fair, 3) Trump won’t just find some excuse to cancel/postpone them, 4) both houses of Congress (both held by the GOP) will validate the results should they lose. How fucking naive can you be?
I very rarely post a comment, but I can remember when televised football was only on Saturday (college) and Sunday(pro). Beginning last year we saw an emerging trend of games on multiple days of the week, a trend that has continued this week in spades. It reminds me of the term of…TBC…
…with ads for food and/or drink on every commercial. While this is going on, the Epstein files are still not released, Trump is preparing for war with Venezuela, and RFK Jr. is trying to kill us all. If that’s not a case of bread and circuses, I don’t know what is. And y’know what? It’ll work. FIN
ADDENDUM - I posted that the increase of televised football games began last year. Yes, I know we’ve had Monday and Thursday night games for several years. But the proliferation of games, both college and professional, seems to have, at least to my mind, grown exponentially the last couple of years.

…”bread and circuses” coined to reflect what Roman officials did to distract the populace from what was really going on in their midst. Give the people food and entertainment so they won’t notice how shitty their lives really are. There are now games on almost every day of the week…TBC…

CNBC: So we should expect the US government to be taking more equity stakes in businesses around the country?
KEVIN HASSETT: It's possible, yeah. That's absolutely right.
The last time troops policed America was in the 1770s.
We fought a revolution against that king, and wrote into the Constitution the Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments to prevent it from ever happening again.
Pass it along…
ATTN: If you’re one of the 1,000 FBI agents who reviewed the Epstein files, feel free to reach out to me via signal (in my bio). I’ll keep you anonymous- as I have the thousands of current and former federal workers who have sent me tips. Please share this widely. 🙏🏻
And if you think about it rationally, there is NO OTHER more serious decision by an administration than to go war. All other decisions pale in comparison. Too serious to allow the person who sits in the Oval Office to make that decision on his own. And no, advisors don’t count. La fin
…And one of the biggest abuses by presidents of both parties was allowing them to commit US troops on foreign soil without a formal declaration of war which is Congress’ job. This was a clear signal to any future wannabe president that he had even more power than even Article II granted…TBC
One thing that is not being addressed near enough is how the ever increasing Executive power we have allowed in this country has led us to the current state. IMO, in the modern era Nixon was the start of this process and we didn’t do near enough to learn and respond to his various power grabs…TBC
This is the door hanger that Musk's PAC is distributing across Wisconsin. They're targeting Republican households.
They must hope it isn't seen by Dems, or anyone who thinks judges shouldn't "keep Trump's agenda moving forward" when Trump breaks the law.
Repost if you agree.
republicans: fyi we are bombing france for being too gay and lead poisoning is now mandatory
democrats: yeah? well prepare yourselves for several strongly worded haikus
Donald Trump’s stupidity needs to be calculated in light years. He’s incompetent. He has no principles or ideology. He knows nothing about how the economy - or a profitable business for that matter - runs. Zero. Zip. Zilch.
Democrats should NOT negotiate with Trump and his sycophants in Congress. If the Republican majority can’t get their act together to prevent a government shutdown, that’s on them.
Democrats need to grow some balls and stand up to Trump’s authoritarianism. Angry posts on social media won’t cut it.
🚨NEW: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is planning to fire Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff C.Q. Brown, a 4-Star General and 41-year veteran of the Air Force who flew over 130 hours in combat as a fighter pilot.
REPOST if you stand with General C.Q. Brown against Hegseth!
New rule - Quit using the term “Mass Media” and substitute “Corporate Media”. Also, contrast that term with “Independent Media”. One unifying factor is the general public’s dislike and distrust of corporations. Use that as a wedge.
This post is a notice to all GOP politicians in the State of Georgia - If you are supporting or even remaining silent on what is going on in our nation’s capital since the inauguration, you are NEVER to use the terms “US Constitution” or “Rule of Law” ever again.
This country was never going to be able to withstand a direct, organized, and total assault on its foundations. We are seeing that fact manifest itself in real time. The long-standing fear of a Communist takeover has proven to be not the nightmare scenario we should have been afraid of.
