Actual Salem Witches react to the arrival of the latest train-load of tourists during "Spooky October." Meanwhile, all the retail Witches in the town rejoice to the nonstop beeping of their charge pads.

As seen on the interwebs. Caption: "It's been a while since Beelzebub has issued a warning so here he is reminding you that he requires treats. Don't forget, the children who rode him are dead."

Anything can come to monstrous life in Japan, including vegetables. In one legend, a pumpkin monster called Sunamura no onryō appeared in the neighborhood of Sunamura night after night, terrorizing people by chasing them around #FolkloreThursday

A Halloween season favorite is "Batbaby," a delirious 12 inch video salute to Creature Features of the early 1960s, with music by Fred Schneider and the Superions. Link in first comment.

Further progress on my submission to @skullsandsheets.bsky.social brilliant fundraising auction for domestic violence charities. Not at all how I’d imagined it, ended up using pieces of a doily rather than sewing onto the figures I added to the vintage embroidered cloth* *Grumpy old cat not included

Progress so far, only the barest bones of the Mari Lwyds sketched out, alongside existing embroidery. Finding the process pleasingly meditative, but the next stage will be more complex & detailed, almost akin to painting with thread & I’m thinking I might appliquΓ© some sections with vintage fabric

Cool cover art, and I think this one is forthcoming. According to the blurb it includes 45 pathworkings which is a huge number. The author got a testimonial from Shani Oates which for some would be the opposite of a recommendation.

Jamie Fisher's new book all about Elliott Smith is here and it's thoughtful, beautiful and heartbreaking. She interviewed 140 people who knew Elliott! An extraordinary work.

Druid Throne commissioned by the late Dylan ap Thuin of the Insular Order of Druids, work by the great artist, much mourned, Bel Bucca. A new acquisition for the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle.

My contributor's copy of this beautiful, bountiful new book all about Sir Christopher Lee's life and career has arrived, and it's stunning. I wrote a chapter surveying Lee's work in the catalytic decade of the 1960s. See link in comment for ordering info.
