President Trump is 0-2 against pools.

Scott Nover@scottnover.bsky.social

BREAKING: TV pool will not be providing coverage of presidential events until further notice b/c of CNN's ban, pool chair and FOX News Washington Bureau Chief Bryan Boughton said. It's effectively a boycott by the fellow members — ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX: www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

In 1997 I bought a new Honda Civic that quickly developed a mysterious electrical problem that caused it to simply refuse to start at random intervals. I had to carry around jumper cables wherever I went. Even then I didn't want my money back as badly as I want a refund on those Fetterman donations.

In case you are an academic who is currently being gaslit into believing that you're a caveman who wants their students to be jobless if you resist allowing AI in your classrooms... I present to you Berkeley Law's response, which can be summarized as "Fuck off directly into the sun."

law.berkeley.eduArtificial Intelligence PolicyEffective Summer 2026 Purpose Future lawyers may need to use artificial intelligence (“AI”) fluently. But the current state of the technology requires that AI use be coupled with the cognitive […]

This is excellent and very much worth reading.

I wrote about a reason not to use generative AI in your writing that I haven't seen anyone talking about. Once I realized this, banning GenAI in our lab's writing became a no-brainer. Feel free to share, I think this is probably useful especially for trainees: www.carlsonlab.bio/thoughts/the...

Honestly, if you think only leftists are sore losers you haven’t met a bunch of the centrists I’ve seen lose with no grace whatsoever. And the converse is emphatically true as well. IMHO, it’s individual people’s shitty personalities that inform their politics, and not the other way around.

So, I used to help domestic violence survivors get civil protection orders. I can say confidently that the answer to every one of this jackass’s rhetorical questions about whether a “real” victim of domestic violence would behave toward an abuser the way his ex behaved toward him is… yes. 100%.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

Megyn Kelly’s opinion that our country is superior because of our “work ethic” is a little confusing given that large parts of it were founded on the principle of getting someone else to do your work for you and not paying them.

In which the ship holding the distinction between scholarship and punditry sinks beneath the waves, never to be seen again. When the orcas take over, I hope they are kinder to us than they are to fish.

Anthony Michael Kreis@anthonymkreis.bsky.social

In which Professor Wurman candidly admits why he sees the history of the common law differently than anyone who has honestly studied it, and why rather than doing scholarship he just wrote and op-ed and a (terrible, demonstrably wrong) article about the common law that should have been rejected.

While higher ed leadership has jumped on the AI bandwagon with an astounding level of credulity and an utterly depressing lack of foresight, here's what our own students think. Good thing they're smarter than our Executive Vice Presidents for FutureTech Career-Forward Outcome Strategies.

Cabel Sasser@cabel.panic.com

this graduation speech moment is notable, and her amazed shock at having failed to read the room feels instructive. when you're inside the bubble, you think everybody else is. but everybody isn't.

Now THAT is what I'm talking about.

Kyle Cheney@kyledcheney.bsky.social

'UNIMAGINABLE CRUELTY': Judge Gary Brown, a Trump appointeee from NY, thrashes DHS' treatment of a man who came to the US at 9 as an abuse/neglect victim, has no criminal record and became a college grad. "The laws of decency condemn such villainy." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

You can tell how deeply rotted these people’s moral centers are because they actually think as they’re talking, “the American people will EAT UP this bomb-ass retort,” rather than “people will find it morally unpalatable when I tell them to ignore child rape because it’s good for their 401ks.”

Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

Love this guy. Curling lawyers forever.

Team USA Curler Rich Ruohonen: "We'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention what's going on in Minnesota...I am a lawyer, as you know, and we have a constitution... and what's happening in Minnesota is wrong. There's no shades of gray. It's clear."
