Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

Yes, because by assaulting her you showed her exactly what would happen (and implied it’d be worse next time) if she didn’t cook you dinner and otherwise be “nice” to you. Anyone who knows anything about how assault works would know this isn’t a defense but an admission.

The last day I put up with my narcissist boyfriend, I made him breakfast and did what he wanted me to do and responded like I knew he wanted me to until I could get him to the airport without incident and be rid of him forever!

Heartbreaking. A mother mourns the dying dreams — of her child growing up in an intact family with a father who shows love for both his wife and child — and wants to salvage something from the ruins; or tries to connect with a better version of the husband to protect the kid. HE is so clueless.

Yes. Having lived as a child in a household where domestic violence, intimidation, coercion and control were commonplace, the abused often try to protect others by trying to fall back to the status quo - resetting to a state to placate the abuser. Fuck you Miller.

This makes sense if she offered to make dinner for him in order to prevent him from assaulting her again. It’s a common pattern in abusive relationships. As we’ve seen with Trump appointees who will do anything to stay on his good side, even if they disagree with it.

Those guys? They might be abused, but it's by their own invitation. If they are being blackmailed, accountability is their friend. They are cowards; they have never stood for anything other than hurting others. Accountability would help here, too.

Same with loads of the GDPR stuff for UK residents Most of the "Reject All" just accepts anyway, because so few people actually check Best to short circuit it entirely via the various tried and tested means (Privacy browsers, web extensions)

I have a rather negative relationship with my own father, though not on the same level as what I described above. It wasn't all bad but I have learned in time to stop feeding his behavior and just stay away. It costs the kids a grandfather, but I can't say he was even a particular grandfather anyway

He’s relying on bro speak gaslighting while women recognize the patterns by either directly experiencing it or knowing someone who has, as evidenced by the comments here. Also, typical with this type, he has no self awareness and thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.

She was trying to protect her child and herself from a violent abuser. She also may have talked quietly, tried to avoid eye contact and tried to take up less space. A guy who has been accused of abusing multiple women should not be in Congress.

There are MANY true crime accounts where women “comply” or appease rapists/killers as their only hope of escaping alive. Too often the police think those acts of compliance are “consent” and do nothing.

Has this guy never met a domestic violence situation? (He definitely has, he created one) Because people *live* with their abusers for years. It doesn't matter if they're being beaten or raped, some combo of love, hope, exhaustion, fear, financial insecurity, etc holds the situation together

Notice the staged pictures of family on the counter behind him...and also notice the psychopathic eyes and the classic abuser speech.

Vote this f*cker out in nov. It’s up to you. Do you want someone who poured scalding water, put a gun to her head, smasher her face into the wall and broke his own daughter’s collarbone plus new allegations about assaulting women. If you vote him in you are just as sick as this scum! Vote Blue!

Women who are violently assaulted. dust themselves off and put themselves back together. for their children every. single. day. I don’t believe him. I believe the mother and the child’s injuries speak for themselves…….

Oh, I don't know Max, maybe she was going to poison you? Or dump the pot of pasta water on you? Or reassure your child that their world isn't falling apart?

Yes. Because she learned how to keep the peace and normalize your violent behavior, but now she’s coming out of her defensive behavior patterns and learning she doesn’t have to put up with your abuse.

Yes. Yes she would. If she was trying to appease you and keep you from beating her or your daughter, she absolutely would. 100%. It happens all the time. Also, this makes you sound like the abusive spouse you're pretending not to be.

I can literally hear him seething in her ear, "nobody will ever believe you!" because he's repeated this very thought about "why would she cook me dinner" a bazillion times in his head.

‘Fight, flight, freeze, fawn’ If you’ve experienced a DV perpetrator (partner, parent etc), you’re aware of the ‘fawning’ reaction to stress and abuse. Observe the history of people surviving dictators, fascist leaders, and monarchs. Fawning is rife. The Stockholm syndrome is another example.

My mother was abused by a live-in boyfriend when I was in high school and college. There’s so much I recognize in this video. I had to shut it off halfway through; I couldn’t even watch all of it. Holy jesus.

Right? Because, when you beat the shit out of someone, they are not going to try to PREVENT getting the shit beaten out of them (and maybe your kids), by the easiest method available? Reminder: men who abuse at home often go on to carry out mass shootings. Take the DV seriously.

Imagine preparing yourself to look innocent from allegations of being a complete asshole, and choosing to put on that shirt.

This POS is my rep. Brought in by extreme gerrymandering. He's done nothing for his constituents or the State of Ohio. He's an abusive fuck that needs to go hang out with Mitch McConnell

Things narcissist abusers say. If I had acted this way, would she still do this? This makes me sick. The victim will shut down and do anything to protect their child and themselves.
