Really glad I didn't have to cycle through this, probably would have gotten really wet.

As I headed to bed late I finally spotted a rare and pretty atmospheric phenomenon, and I took a quick walk to get a clearer view of the sky. Here are some distant noctilucent clouds I managed to snap before they faded away. R6M2, handheld ISO 25600. #Photography #NoctilucentClouds

While they were feeding the polar bears for us to photograph at #SkandinaviskDyrepark, Red Kites (Milvus milvus) showed up and sometimes got fairly close to us. I often see raptors fly near where I live; not that close I can identify them though. #Photography #NaturePhotography #Birds #Raptors

Yesterday there was a #Photography event in #SkandinaviskDyrepark (nearby for me in Denmark). Here some shots of the eagles: they aren't allowed to have European Sea Eagles by law, so they have "representative" Steller's Sea Eagles instead. Amazing creatures! #NaturePhotography #Birds #Raptors

Yesterday's very early morning moonset in the Netherlands. Such a calm atmosphere with the moon setting on top of the windmills with the countryside covered in fog.

Some pink rhododendrons for #macromonday, with a bonus bee and ant. #Photography #Nature Canon R6m2 with EF 2.8L 100 IS USM Macro

Dreamy Space Coast morning view as SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket at 6:04am (ET), seen here over the Banana River from Merritt Island, Florida. Bonus: Space jellyfish = confirmed (although that cloud obscured much of it for me).

I am absolutely shite at recognising when someone is flirting with me. Like, comically bad at it. My mates would mock me about it. But something happened today that made me so happy. 1/?

Not long ago got a 100-400 and 1.4x extender off MPB. Was disappointed how little it did for zooming to the moon on my R6M2. I ended up doing a quick camera sensor comparison while waiting for a dark sky. In short: don't use full frame sensors for astro if you like zooming in. :) #astrophotography

My first decent #astrophotography image. Soul Nebula, Heart Nebula and Fish Nebula in visible light under a Bortle 4 sky, likely one of the last chances of an image until September as dark nights return then. Took effort to learn how to target on a dumb star tracker! More details in the alt text.

Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it).

"The snow stills the air, and amplifies one's feet." (me) First (real) snow of the season here in Denmark, not seen snow as good as this in quite a few years. The doggo (not pictured) also enjoyed it with quite a bit of dashing through the snow. #photography #mobilephotography #snow #walkies

Rob’s theme for today’s #BirdOfTheDay is #GoodLight and bird capture. As always I need to use my archives (really need a longer lens) but at least some people get to see these old pictures. 😊 Here's a swan from 2015 with the 40D and cheap 75-300 lens.

#BirdOfTheDay is all #AboutTheKids any bird chicks or juveniles, and the Alternative is #Gulls. Here's some ducklings and cootlings for you. (Some more oldies from 2005 with the 300D + EF 75-300). #Photography

Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #NaturesPantry birds interacting with berries, seeds, or flowers. I think we can say this little sparrow is ... interacting with the summer lilac's flowers? Canon 40D + 75-300 f/4-5.6 #Photography #Birds

We waited for nearly an hour. Just as we were losing hope, we spotted a dark spot in the bushes. And then it dropped to the ground.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #ScratchersAndPruners (any bird Scratching or Pruning itself), and the Alternative is #Drinkers (any bird taking a Drink). #Photography #Birds Here's an Egyptian Goose from 2004 with the 300D; a Swan from 2015 with the 40D. Both with the first EF 75-300 lens.

#BirdOfTheDay #HeronsandEgrets #birds #photography Too bad it's not a duck, could've scored with that yesterday. 40D with EF 70-200 2.8L IS USM, taken in 2009. (Shared a similar one before, this is a different composition).

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Coots&Moorhens, and the Alternative is #Pigeons. Coots I have! Here are some coots from the canal that was next to our office at the time. One I have shared before, but now a re-edit done. Moorhens are *my* nemesis, never been able to capture these.

My archive is a tad light on kingfishers, sadly. But I can do some gulls as the #BirdOfTheDay #Birds #Gulls #Nature #Photography @alan678.bsky.social This one is an oldie from Oct 2004, Canon 300D with 18-55 kit lens at 55mm, 1/40s.

There was some chance of auroras tonight and brief clear skies. Got up and went out at 4 to see if I could capture something. Sadly no auroras that I or my camera could see, but here's a moonlit landscape for you. Canon R6m2 + Samyang 14mm at 2.8, 13 seconds. #Photography #Moonlit #Landscape
