anne of green gables is one of my favorite characters of all time i loved her so much that in fifth grade my teacher rented all the vhs tapes and let me watch the sullivan entertainment movies during lunch & recess #sketchbook

went to a pen show and learned about the American Pencil Collectors Society which is the best thing i have ever heard. Had a conversation about vintage pencils for 30 minutes & this guy showed us his favorite pencils in his collection which made me tear up

one of the biggest piece of advice i would pass on to young/new creatives is that not every opportunity that hits your inbox is necessarily one you should take - not every "collab" or partnership or job makes sense for you if it doesnt align w/ your personal ethos or community!!

specifically i mean: being genuine to yourself & to people who like your work - it doesn't make sense to do collabs w/ brands that dont have the same values as you. I think everyone should get their bread, but doing pr work for AI brands or collections with SHEIN make no sense for an artist lmao

mostly this comes from the unfortunate artist scam that just happened & is making the rounds - high profile creatives have platforms that young artists see & trust. the companies you work w/ or showcase makes a difference to people when they see that & think they can make money that way too

got to airport yesterday to head to new york for stationery fest first flight delayed 3 hours then cancelled second flight delayed due to no flight attendant cancelled third flight, waited two hours captain arrived but was fatigued cancelled received $15 voucher 20 hours later on new flight

tried book a flight to ANY city near new york - all completely filled & sold out even contemplated driving the 24 hours at some point...... or even flying to niagara falls & transferring... then our bags got held in their claims area, so we had to wait another 3 hours to talk to someone 🫩
