3yrs since I gave a short GRC talk on my PhD project it remains probably my favourite academic talk it was equal parts scary and exciting very fond memories of the GRCs I attended in my PhD. Thanks in no small part to the senior scientists who took time to discuss with PhDs and postdocs! Thanks!

I just watched this. It is so incredibly important to see it I hope the world's stage is big enough to get this story out there and for people to understand the constant struggles of Palestinians in the occupied territories

I find it confusing why its not controversial for people to support Ukraine's fight against Russia, but still people seem unwilling to voice their support for Palestine in it's fight for survival against Israel.Obviously I think we should be shouting about both loudly but the discrepancy is striking

3yrs, it feels like another life and yet it feels like yesterday.I wish every student could enjoy their defense as much as I did but I appreciate I was lucky to have great people around me! This really annoyed me is it common for postdocs to be referred to as students?why does it happen? I mean we are not students, yes we are always learning but so are PIs. Why is it so common for people to prepare scientific manuscripts with the figures at the end of the doc.. and even more curious why have the figure caption at a separate part of the document.. Happy new year..Find a new flat!😭People say you dont do science for the money (ie to get rich) I think thats a little bit bullshit but fine I dont need to get rich but with short, not v.well paid contracts life as a postdoc is hard..I should be allowed to want a nice flat!
