Once again, I had a blast at #MCLS2025! First time participating in a symposium so aligned with my research interests (โ€œRepresentations of ordinalityโ€). Huge thanks to Maria Brandao for organizing it, and to all the brilliant speakers: @lillyroth.bsky.social, Francesco Sella, and Maria herself

The #MCLS2026 conference in Hong Kong was much fun and very inspiring ๐Ÿ˜ I was happy to see again all the great researchers I got to know over the past years, and to meet many more ๐Ÿ˜Š Also had the chance to present my research on spatial mental representations of ordinality in letters ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

In this study, we observed (1) that group-level SNARC, MARC, and Odd effects are not necessarily revealed by each individual, and (2) that stability of such phenomena over time cannot be taken for granted and can be very unsystematic ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

In cognitive experimental psychology, we generalize a lot: Researchers often assume (1) that group-level phenomena are present in each participant, and (2) that observed phenomena in single sessions reflect typical behavior ๐Ÿค”
