Trump started a war against Iran, created ⛽️ shortage and price 📈 and now lifts sanctions against Russia and funds Putin’s war machine against Ukraine. And then gloats about it ahead of the midterms.

On the one hand, the amount that could be exported is so small that it will not lower diesel prices. On the other hand, even limited exports will help a cash strapped Russia make drones with which to kill more children & prolong the war. Three more kids were killed this morning in Zaporizhzhia.

🇺🇸🤡 Trump thanks Putin: Russia agreed to send us millions and millions of barrels of oil, and it’s diesel. That’s what we really need. So thank you! I settled eight wars, and I’m about to settle or win two more: Iran and Russia-Ukraine. Azerbaijan-Armenia. I got it done in two days.

Just back from the workshop "Contesting the Liberal International Order" @unisalzburg.bsky.social in 🇦🇹 — presented collaborative work on populist cues and attitudes toward international organizations. A few years ago (2022) I presented a paper where I developed 3 mechanisms of politicization of the European Union. one of them is the usual bottom-up process: people get mobilized by what the EU does. I called it "reactive politicization". Countless examples of it in the literature. 1/9
