WSR (When Sanity Returns), the entire “pardon” process needs to be seriously visited! It was never intended as a “party favor” to use as a “get out of jail free card” for wrongdoings by, on behalf of the President or anyone he takes a liking to!

We're less than two weeks out from election day, and I can't do it without y'all. There are almost 200 opportunities to get out and tell your neighbors new leadership is on the ballot and I will fight for you! Let's get it! #AngieForFL

30 years ago, today, Susan Collins pledged she would only serve two terms in the U.S. Senate. Here we are, five terms later, with her still in office. Susan broke her promise. How can we trust her to fight for us?

It is unquestionably vital for dems to get as many senate and congressional seats as possible However It is far more important to get as many states under democratic control possible. Especially in longtime red states.

Given that trump will continue to be president, the national economy and international affairs will continue to suck. But states can see improvement. Dems are categorically better at governing. If more of the country can test drive a democrat trifecta, red states can see improvement and turn blue

Warnock: "I worry that Democrats are missing a real opportunity to invest in a serious & sustained way in the South. If we would just lean in and stay in through the election & after the election, the kind of victory you saw us achieve here in Georgia, it is achievable in a place like Mississippi."

I am passively always searching for a neck tie that features either solar panels or wind turbines. I dont even wear ties often, yet this is a need

Upon further reflection, the #StrangerThings ending could have been a bit better. 11's sacrifice at the end is played down as a happy ending instead of an incredibly painful choice to not end her story at the cost of still losing everything. A worthwhile message to drive home

Crap. Substack is what I wanted reddit to be. I could have been getting what I was looking for so much sooner. Also without being subjected to all of the horrors of front page reddit

Im voting no on 3. But im voting yes and blue on everything else

Steve Ahlquist: Blue is not Green: Vote “No” on Question 3 ...what, exactly, is the money for? The phrase “[e]ligible uses include, but are not limited to” is extremely broad. A literal reading of the phrase could include any imaginable expenditure. steveahlquist.substack.com/p/steve-ahlq...

But also, we are all capable of making waves. Every person who made the IRA happen started by saying "well, if no one else is going to do this, then I will" and then wrote some legislation, made a computer model, or held a protest.

Politicians are not special people. They are just people. And they dont know everything. There might be something you know about that you know could be made better with the right law in the right place. Find your representative at any level of government, and tell them about it. #CarbonWave

If schumer didnt have a trusted staff member who was already friends with a trusted manchin staffer, we never would have gotten the bill. If our next administration needs to turn a no vote into a yes, we will need every staffer we can get to make it happen

Further, every staffer that the republicans have to help them obstruct progress is a problem. So yes, i would much rather have fetterman in office than a second Suzanne Collins.

If we had 55 dems in the senate in 2021, we would have gotten Build Back Better instead of Inflation Reduction Act in 2022. BBB was better, but more importantly, it would have happened up to 18 months sooner, it would have had more time before trump, and perhaps prevented Trump 2 all together

But beyond the votes in the senate, its the staffers. Despite Manchin's thick head, despite Schumer's middle of the road philosophy, it was a schumer staffer and his friend, a manchin staffer, who were pivotal to turning the no vote into a yes.

It is infinitely important to elect as many democrats as possible into every position. Even the most frustrating, moderate democrat is important to have if the alternative is a republican. Yes, even Sinema, even Manchin, even Fetterman

Zoognosis with Joy!@zoognosisjoy.bsky.social

Parents are poisoning their children because they know what's best for them. People are selling poison to children because it comes from an animal, how can it be dangerous, it's natural? The state is abdicating its prerogative to regulate food because the cranks cannot stop poisoning children.

Ive been listening to the Green Rider by Kristen Britain and im really enjoying it. Its a classic fantasy and it feels a lot easier than some of the modern fantasy ive been reading.

One of the interesting things is that the main character gets one main magical ability, invisibility. Which is often used as a metaphor for deceit, untrustworthiness, cunning, or seeming insignificant. In Green Rider, it seems to be a metaphor for determination.

Also, Captain Mapstone, her magic is truth detection, which seems to be a metaphor for confidence, something her character is overflowing with. #booksky

I dont think we should elect Philip Wittebane #OwlHouse
