For clarity’s sake: late night (and other) comedians are only doing what they have always done. They look at reality and point out things that are weird, wrong, ironic, or absurd. They are not unduly picking on the current POTUS!

The Trump voters who are experiencing layoffs and higher prices under his administration have a scapegoat— Elon Musk. Now we tie Elon to Trump. Link them together. Don’t let one get away from the other. DOGE is Trump. Elon is Trump. Layoffs are Trump. Grocery prices are Trump. It’s all Trump.

Yes, he won the election. But it was nothing like a mandate. He will have to wrest this role of autocrat from the American people who still believe in the separation of powers and will oppose him in the courts, on social media, in our communities, in the public square, in the streets.

Great idea! But congressional Dems need to get on task ASAP. Keep tabs on each department of federal government, but be systematic about it, with members focused on their particular assignment and not distracted by every outrage du jour. Then, put out a "Keeping Tabs" YouTube out every week.

Why is there not a louder outcry about the need to run FBI background checks on each of these nominees? The news media report that Drumpf is doing his own checks, as if, somehow, this is not highly irregular, as if letting a felon do his own checks doesn't threaten the system of checks and balances!

If they won’t disclose who is funding the presidential transition, and they won’t even run FBI background checks on the nominees, the American people can’t be expected to treat the appointments as wholly legitimate. A cloud will hang over all of them.
