I literally don't have room any more, but that didn't stop me... a new baby's in the house, a second-hand Cort G200DX, in beautiful natural wood! The guy who sold it to me tweaked it a lot and it's such a joy to play. I gave it a test with the gorgeous "Lena" by Gamalon #guitar #cort #gamalon #lena

I firmly believe #AI will be the death of #opensource software. When everyone, instead of supporting the developers of #foss they profit from, chooses to ask #ChatGPT or #Claude for help, what do you expect will happen? 1/2

Consulting and support is how mantainers put food on the table: it was tough before, it's pretty much impossible now (and I've seen it happen already), and yes, projects WILL be abandoned. Is this what we want? Not sure if there's a way back. Any way you look at it, it's bleak. 2/2

I wonder how many people among my German friends would tell me they voted (or will vote) AfD, if I asked them. This reminds me of the old Berlusconi days in Italy: no one ever admitted voting for hm, and het somehow he always won. Dark days ahead.

Apparently SlideShare stopped accepting new uploads a few weeks ago, and never enabled them back again... I was never very fond of it for sharing my slides, so I guess it's time to find a replacement. Which alternative would you recommend, possibly (not really needed) some more open than SlideShare?

Dear #MusicProduction lovers! #FOSDEM opened their call-for-devrooms, and we'd love to have the MP devroom again, but I won't be in Brussels (family reasons) and Steven may not either. Want to help organize this year? I can take care of everything except the day there. Get in touch, reposts welcome!

At the latest #IETF in Vienna, we decided to run a peculiar experiment... stream the #MoQ sessions using #MoQ itself! All using our existing #WebRTC infrastructure as the source for the media. This blog post is an overview on that. Feedback (and reposts) welcome! www.meetecho.com/blog/moq-iet...

meetecho.comStreaming the IETF MoQ sessions with MoQ… kinda! | Meetecho BlogFor quite some time, Meetecho has been the official tool for remote participation at IETF meetings. While this includes a plethora of different tools to support all the different features that are req...

Today marks the 20th anniversary of my Master's degree! The fun thing about it is that I always remember the date (30th of June) because it's Malmsteen's birthday 🤣 And the year because it's when Italy last won the World Cup, shortly before disappearing in football nothingness...

I know, I know... I literally shared a #MoQ and #WebRTC blog post just a few days ago! But I was on a roll, and I wanted to play more with MoQ and media (in a browser too), so this push-to-talk demo came out... feedback and reposts welcome! www.meetecho.com/blog/moq-ptt/

meetecho.comPOC time: a push-to-talk demo with MoQ | Meetecho BlogWe recently talked about the efforts we devoted on tinkering with real-time media in MoQ, and in particular on how to bridge that to WebRTC and back. That post focused on our imquic library, the nativ...

If you missed my @commcon.xyz talk, I just wrote a more detailed blog post about everything I presented there, also touching on many aspects I didn't mention in the presentation. The focus is of course on the #WebRTC / #MoQ parallels/differences/gatewaying. Enjoy! www.meetecho.com/blog/janus-m...

meetecho.comCan MoQ and WebRTC be friends? | Meetecho BlogI talked a lot about my QUIC, RTP Over QUIC (RoQ) and Media Over QUIC (MoQ) experiments, lately. This eventually led to the release of a dedicated open source library, called imquic, that could provid...

I just presented my slides called "Looking at #MoQ with #WebRTC eyes" at CommCon. Part of the presentation was trying to cover the words the MoQ camp threw at the WebRTC camp and viceversa, did I miss anything? 😁

For those that may be interested, here are the slides I presented at #OpenSIPSSummit, about RTP forwarding support in the Janus SIP/NoSIP plugins. It opens the door to a lot of cool things, so if you use SIP/WebRTC a lot you may want to check it out! www.slideshare.net/slideshow/rt...

slideshare.netRTP Forwarders in SIP and NoSIP @ OpenSIPS Summit 2026Slides for my "Using RTP Forwarders to process Janus SIP streams externally" presentation at the OpenSIPS Summit 2026 event. They describe my efforts refactoring the Janus SIP and NoSIP plugins to al...

As a side note, tomorrow I'll still be here for a workshop on RTP Over QUIC (RoQ), with practical examples using my #imquic library and the preliminary integration I talked about a few days ago. If that's something that tickles your interest, see you there!

It's been some time since my last technical blog post, so I thought I'd write one on some of my efforts to integrate #QUIC, #RoQ and (partly) #MoQ in the Janus #WebRTC server. Mostly experimental, but it could be a useful testbed for the future. Feedback welcome! www.meetecho.com/blog/janus-r...

meetecho.comJanus RoQs! | Meetecho BlogWhile WebRTC obviously still has my undivided attention, I've been playing more and more with QUIC too, recently. On this very blog, I talked about me getting started with QUIC, my first experiments w...

The only European leader with a spine

il Post@ilpost.it

I think I figured out why I can't stand the music of the likes of Tim Henson, Polyphia, Ichika Nito, Marcin & co... It basically sounds like what AI thinks a guitar-based song full of solos should sound like

I suspected I had not really survived #FOSDEM unscathed, and in fact there it is... Stuck in bed with the flu! At least this time it happened *after* FOSDEM and not before 😁

It seems the crypto community has found a new way to extract money from people. They are creating tokens for popular open source projects and inviting maintainers to get in on the scheme. Here is the email I got earlier today.

I looked up the real answer, but it’s boring, so I’m just going to stay irritated at the concept of putting crackers in a barrel. Why would anyone do that? Crackers are square. Barrels are round. The geometry is unpleasant to imagine. Also fuck ICE.
