Outrageous that a community safety improvement project previously agreed at Transport & Environment committee can be just be forgotton about by @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social If Juniper Green & Baberton Community Council have already done all the hard work previously, why should they have to resubmit
The annoying thing is that the engagement was done and the project was agreed. Nobody bothered to implement after the team progressing it "ceased to exist following an organisational review" so the whole idea goes back to square 1.

I started my website last century in April 1999. Recently I found that 2 of my many Edinburgh galleries had vanished somehow due to some careless mistake. I'm 82 so it's been challenging sorting things out. The mental exercise will hopefully keep mad pensioner disease at bay. Visit henniker.scot
What a pumpkin! and we're very lucky to have this great project in our area. We need investment in our communities and our people. There is nothing left to cut.
Is Redhall Walled Garden home to Edinburgh South West's biggest homegrown pumpkin? It was a pleasure to visit SAMH's Redhall Walled Garden this week and meet Claire and the fantastic team behind this life-changing service.

Fabulous work! Thanks so much for progressing. ❤️
A breezy morning a Longstone where yhe volunteers planted 240 trees to boost the biodiversity next to Saughton Prison. Removed nine bags of litter, 1 mattress and a foot spa. Trimmed back the prison path to keep it useable for the local community. #civicpride

1/ ♿ When is a pavement no longer obviously a pavement? Accessibility on Leith Walk was discussed again at our September meeting, following this article featuring LCCC member Alan, who is blind and has worked with us to highlight problems: www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinbur...
As the development on the former Booker site progresses, work on the new bridge crossing also progresses. Currently CEC are approaching suppliers for the design stage of the bridge with the hope to work quickly on this. A stakeholder meeting & site visit are being organised in the next few weeks.
Images from the presentation on the Longstone Link bridge project at our meeting on Monday. Feasibility works completed early 2025. Favoured deck width to secure funding from Transport Scotland is 5m. Minimises conflicts between users.

We spotted the scythers out there this morning. Great to hear more tree planting coming to the mounds there. The first batch from earlier this year look to have settled in well. 😀
Two volunteer teams out this morning. The 1st was at Longstone scything vegetation off the mounds ready for tree planting next week. By removing the vegetation there will be less competition and a better chance of the trees making it to maturity.

Good to see @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social team out cleaning up Redhall Grove. 👍 @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social
Following a request from a local parent, @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social and ourselves requested the Open Space Maintenance Team attend to the weed growth along Redhall Grove, paying particular attention to the school entrances. Should notice a difference soon. Job ref: 2217302
@edinburghcouncil.bsky.social were out cleaning tags off the wall on Inglis Green Road earlier today.
Amazing! We regularly see older people doing their shopping by bike at Sainsurys. Not unusual to see them heading back up Lanark Rd afterwards.

Murray Burn - An update on the ongoing culvert and river pollution concerns: www.facebook.com/DrScottArthu...
Thanks Jim 🙏🏻 sometimes it even turns orange 😳 like it did earlier this year.
It was good to meet Jim from Craiglockhart yesterday and walk a section of the Murray Burn. He has removed literally thousands of wet wipes from this short stretch of river. Despite all his hard work, we still found many more yesterday, tangled in vegetation & caught on rocks.
Incredible! Should’ve been an easy win. It’s crazy how long it takes to deliver improvements to communities literally running towards CEC asking for change. This should be simple, good will and outcomes banked by CEC. Depressing.
45 years! 😮 That's how long Craiglockhart Primary School families have been waiting for a safe zebra crossing in front of the school.
At our meeting on Monday, we decided to reach out to @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social and Voi bikes to find out when we can expect to see the scheme extend it's benefits to local residents, and to help identify good locations to site a parking/pickup zone. 🚲 🚲🚲
🤩 Great to see this #Voi bikes success, which ties in with our own #SpokesCount results... --> bsky.app/profile/spok... Also helping people try an alternative to 🚘 habit in the #CostOfLiving crisis (see evidence of this in our count)... @edi.bike @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social @edfoc.bsky.social
