i feel like i need to make a blog post or something about drawing/illustrating on linux if u can get past the fact that clip studio doesn't really work and move to krita (which is excellent), literally everything about the experience is so much better than windows and it's not even close

update after my first week: its fun! i think! but also being in a physical office is pretty intimidating after so long being fully remote and all my coworkers are dudes nearly twice my age and whom I have nothing in common with. win some lose some

playing new games is a staunch reminder that my pc is getting on a bit, it's normally the time where i'd consider an upgrade but like, a new AAA game i actually care about, feel *somewhat* ethically okay buying and doesn't use genAI is a very small venn diagram overlap so it doesn't feel worth it

the amount of retro gaming-focused youtube channels i've unsubbed from over ai recomp/decomp coverage is getting kinda silly, like people i would've expected better from just gleefully presenting them like "teehee treats to play :)"

hell yeah me and my girlfriend found this ipod classic in oxfam a few weeks ago, it was dead as fuck with a swollen battery, but i've managed to bring it back to life by replacing it and installing rockbox :) hope it stays reliable cos holy FUCK i don't wanna have to take this thing apart again

breaking my fuckin heart to put in a refund request for Control Resonant, the game is so fun so far but no matter what i do i cannot get it to run well on my fairly powerful pc :(

got it refunded and bought it on ps5 since I'm reliably informed it runs ok there. ive been so excited about this gaaaaame

spent a few drawing sessions this week trying to figure out a new style for my art

kind of a dramatic shift maybe? but i’m figuring out a few things i want to start doing/leaning more into: - stronger stylisation, less realistic proportions and details - thick strong lines with varied weight - limited colour palettes for heavy contrast - the grumpiest girls you’ve ever seen

oh i guess i haven't actually shared this yet, i have in fact managed to escape the absolute hellscape that is software development in 2026! i start a new job in the entirely new hellscape of being a sys admin next month :)

getting caught up on the baki anime, this shit is so ass i love it, never seen anything that is more blatantly just the author playing with action figures
