where are the other vakalomorphs? who else literally perceives their body as being what you imagine it to be?
We mildly hallucinate our true forms over top of our physical body, some of us More than others :o it doesn't seem talked about much in alterhuman spaces
Something I would work on between commissions and as a warmup that turned into a rough character ref of my pooka sona. Dont feel like explaining a lot right now but hopefully it speaks for itself? Maybe I will take questions one day.
we're wondering if more women would be into sex dolls if the pop image of a sex doll collector involved more of the "playing with dolls" part of having them? The hair styling, the makeup, the clothes and dress up, the inevitable care routine of bath time, taking fun pictures, etc?
A (small) new English blog post on therian.blog: therian.blog/posts/2608-i...
Sparked by discussions about this on Reddit and a few recent in-person conversations, I take a look at the questions we need to answer before we could reasonably look into the question: "Is therianthropy (in-/)voluntary?"
A small recommendation for my fellow nonhumans in the crowd: an #alterhuman made zine of 53 pages, a lot to think about, and no small amount of comfort in seeing so clearly that you are not alone in this feeling of 'other'.

Really thinking i'm plant-hearted as hell. I've poked the idea of being a phytanthrope a few times, its still possible, but honestly i think i just have this deep, mutual relationship with plant life that touches my alterhumanity.
QP because while there's a disagreement on how therianthropy does/nt resemble transness, i think Senna makes a really good point here about identity vs materiality. It puts words to a feeling i've had for years about how therianthropy has become so idpol-heavy, and less substantive in some ways.
sorry to be mean but "therianism and agere are the same as being trans" betrays a fundamentally idealist mistake that limits trans womanhood to 'identifying as something makes you that something' rather than a trans woman materially and socially being treated as a(n infertile, disposable) woman
NOW don't get it twisted. I'm not saying anyone is/nt therian, or putting down the amazing stuff folks are doing and the art being made and the culture i see evolving. I just feel like the idea that identifying IS being reduces our existence to an immaterial one with no outside reality.
And i think the idea that we have no material needs exists as a result. If its just an identity with no material basis, then we dont need community, or support, or have special mental or healthcare needs, and arent at risk of violence or politically scapegoated. It undermines our culture and reality
And fwiw i don't think you can't identify your way into being. I just think we shouldn't treat them as synonymously as we do. They're two different verbs.

It reminds me of how radqueers define "trans-" as "identifying as something you aren't biologically" and how many ideological nightmares its caused through that idea of transness. Identity is not a magic key to unlock BEING. It's counting yourself present as a thing, not living your life as it.
I think a lot of therian community has shifted to have the tail wag the dog, when the animal identity really comes as the logical conclusion of being nonhuman already. I won't tell anyone they can't sit with us, but i struggle to relate to this identity-first wave of therians for this reason.

For me, identifying as a wolf is a marker of being a wolf, not what *makes me* the wolf. There are times i have disidentified with this part of myself for any number of reasons, but that did not make me anything else because identification alone doesn't do that. I can't identify my way out of it.
I'm really interested in Splatterpunk from what i've seen of the genre, and would like recommendations for good reads/watches?
#splatterpunk#horror#booksky
the funniest part of this was that I was introduced to the genre officially through a roast of the book "Suck Mommy's Piss Flaps" :P All i could think the whole time was "if this idea was better written it could be really compelling and kinda hot" so I went looking for the good stuff as a result.
hey, does anyone have advice for discerning if a fundraiser is a scammer who stole someone else's pictures and story, or the actual people? I really want to donate directly to some funds for Palestinians in need, but I've seen so many scammers impersonating Palestinians that idk how to tell.
what if heretic tech priest was doing a FNAF, and the beureuacratic nightmare of the Imperium meant that it took some C-list Inquisitors to go to some backwater planet to figure the problem out?
im at the point with my scoliosis that i think im gonna have to bite the bullet and get spinal fusion :x and that scares the hell out of me and mads me sad and angry at the medical neglect that made me need this at all, let alone before im even 40.

im just scared and dont know what im doing and know all the things that can go wrong and my doctor's appointment keeps getting moved out and out and :x im scared. yea
This may be an unpopular opinion (I'm not sure), but:
It strikes me as odd how often I see posts about therianthropy going in a direction of equating being a non-human animal with total freedom and lack of any obligations. Following an anthropomorphized "nature = freedom" fallacy, so to speak. 1/3
our system's member count has exploded recently and id like to add a hand to the Jax fictive roll-call in the alterhuman feeds lol. She's been here since the 4th and isn't front rn so i'm posting on her behalf.
