we had 2 additional rules this game besides the usual art telephone gimmick. the first was that each participant had only 24 hours to complete their piece, and the second is that the preceding drawing was blurred to all hell before being sent to them, so this is what I had to work off of for my turn

I have officially contacted a printer (Keness in Pittsburgh. heard very good things about him) for my big monk book. Gonna aim for 250 copies for the first run and hopefully I haven't massively overestimated the actual interest in a physical copy of this thing

There will also be a PWYW pdf version. Unfortunately the Europeans will probably have to be content with that unless they want to pay through the nose for international shipping and tariffs.

Maybe one day I can find a way around that but please bear in mind I am not a professional and this is just s weekend fun project that got out of hand and there's only so much time and energy I can devote to that kind of higher level logistics

the thing about my rule of having to fill at least one sketchbook page before going to sleep every night is sometimes I'm really tired

American Constance chain-smokes like it's the source of all her power.

Reading Redwall growing up I assumed all badgers were the adorable, social, omnivore burrow buddies that were NOBLE WARRIORS in those books and was so shocked to learn the badgers over here in America are asshole murder engines that can and will pick a fight with anything they can

incredible eye makeup on this Osmia from Idaho. Keys approximately to O. laeta but probably an undescribed species.

A good demonstration of how absurdly small insects can get. I was looking at a relatively small (2.5 mm) pteromalid wasp and noticed something stuck to its wing. It was an even smaller wasp.

the smaller wasp appears to be a fairy wasp in the genus Erythmelus but probably too shriveled to ID to species, assuming it even belongs to a described species.

it'll be a little while till I can mass-print the first volume of the monkzine but until then I made a special little coptic bound version on some fancy inkjet paper

Brother Hob shows up at the abbey exactly once a year as part of his annual Pilgrimage, which largely consists of getting way too drunk, hassling Br. Mort for pipeweed, and skedaddling right before Sister Dot decides to kick his ass

Roger Corman's The Raven should have spawned a 10 season tv show about Vincent Price and Peter Lorre playing a couple bumbling wizard detectives solving mysteries and fighting evil sorcerers played by other 60s character actors

the zine is pretty much complete and I'm now onto the shopping around for printers stage and I still have no clue what a realistic number of copies to order would be

Judging from sticker sales, there'd likely be a lot of interest from europeans but even the cheapest international shipping on a book this size is probably gonna be like $15 unless I'm missing something

no sound because I'm too tech illiterate to add music but had to remove the sound of my friend shriek-laughing
