I watched Tenet today. It was good; I really don’t see why people were so confused about it. Would love to watch it again to see the things I missed

Like two fuckin weeks on Linux and I'm already a "telling my artist that, really, console git is simpler to use than a GUI anyways" person I AM ON RECORD AS LOATHING GIT AS RECENTLY AS THIS YEAR Linux: not even once

Bamboo feels like one of those basic things that you find at the very beginning of the game, and you don’t need it for the entire game until you find that the developers made it one-shot the final boss and now you feel like you slept on it for the entire game.

WE DON'T NEED PETROLEUM-BASED PLASTICS ANYMORE! "The [bamboo plastic] outperforms most commercial plastics and bioplastics in mechanical and thermo-mechanical metrics while maintaining full biodegradability in soil within 50 days and closed-loop recyclability with 90% retained strength."

This entire thread is fantastic, but this particular part is something that I’ve tried to start working on in my own work environment. Have the agency to change the things in your life that suck. They may be small, but even one less thing is an improvement.

About the Mariners-Blue Jays game, I can’t even be mad. Both teams played so hard over the seven games. I’m mostly just disappointed that I got my hopes up so high for them to be dashed like usual

This thread made me realize that the we’re taught math seems to be that = is “causes”, or “X+Y causes Z” At some point, maybe when when I started programming, my brain made the connection that the real meaning of = is “is”

And at that moment, I felt like my brain had been struck by lightning, because it all snapped into place. Because of *how engineers* tend to be taught, and how they tend to USE equations, he was thinking of the equations as *causitive*. Left side *causes* right side.

A 3D Printing life hack I just discovered is that old Quilt Racks can make for good filament storage. Just got done painting mine to look more nerdy/techy instead of plain wood, but I don’t think I actually _needed_ to do that.

I created a spreadsheet to see how much my 3D prints are “costing” me; how much would I have to sell the piece for to make up for the time and filament. It’s been a pretty good way to prioritize the prints, but I’m getting to the point where I might need to get a second printer 😅

I just recently got a 3D printer, so now I get to spend all my money on filament while printing every STL I can find. And also finally learn FreeCAD so I can design my own things. I was putting it off for years because "I don't have a reason", but now, sadly, I do.
