Perfectly timed with my talk today, I can finally announce it 🥳😱🎉: next-yak is now just yak, and every package moved to the @yak npm scope. Same team, more committed than ever, and yak now runs on Solid too. Check out our redesigned page and migration guide: yak.js.org

@yak/solid brings the same styled-components syntax to Solid 2, compiled to plain CSS at build time. It is experimental while Solid 2 is in RC: yak.js.org/docs/solid But the benchmark numbers are wild: jantimon.github.io/css-in-js-be...
Migrating from next-yak is mostly renaming: new package, new imports, new config path. The guide walks through it: yak.js.org/docs/migrati... Our plan next: A codemod that does the renames for you. If you hit anything in between, open an issue on GitHub 🫶

What changed: next-yak → @yak/react yak-swc → @yak/swc eslint-plugin-yak → @yak/eslint-plugin storybook-addon-yak → @yak/storybook And @yak/solid as a completely new package. View them here: npmx.dev/@yak
It was an incredible experience as a first time speaker. Thank you for the very good organization, the good talks and the connections/friends made along the way 🫶 Can't recommend it enough. Just submit your proposal and try it out! 😁
That was a lovely in-person day at React Advanced London ❤️ As always, it was all about ✨meeting new and old friends, taking notes during the sessions, and simply having a great time! And now, staying for the October 26 remote day 💻
Last talk of today at @reactadvanced.gitnation.org : @tkdodo.eu is speaking in emojis 😱😱😱🔥🔥🔥 Just kidding. His talk about the gigantic codebase of @sentry.io and his experience to manage this huge amount of complexity and how to improve it, was really good. You should definitely check it out!
Really great talk (and theme) from @guaca.bsky.social at @reactadvanced.gitnation.org on how slow the default next.js applications are in the wild. You can make it fast, but it needs some work. Really covers my experience
@jherr.dev showing whats all in TanStacks tool belt (especially his favourite one "TanStack AI"). And congrats for 1.0 🚀
Is it now time to say that our long time plan comes together at the perfect time right for my talk at @reactadvanced.gitnation.org on Monday? ̶n̶e̶x̶t̶-̶y̶a̶k̶ 👀
Jan Peer Stöcklmair shows why vinext was born and why you should use it instead of open-next @reactadvanced.gitnation.org And look at that lovely tshirt 🏳️🌈 (and slide 👀)
AI talks sometimes feel like snake oil, but the talk of Rivka Ungar @reactadvanced.gitnation.org showed from experience how monday connects figma with the code. For me it's an interesting topic as at Digitec Galaxus we're at the same spot to enable designers more currently.
@reactadvanced.gitnation.org off with a great start 🚀 @mattpocock.com is talking about how software fundamentals (automated checks, hardcore linting, API modeling, state) are still beneficial in the AI era.

Looking forward to my first international talk 🇬🇧😊 I'll be in London from Thursday (22.10) till Sunday morning (25.10). Let's meet if you're also there :)
🎨 What's actually happening inside compile-time CSS-in-JS? @luca.schneider.is, Senior Software Engineer at Digitec Galaxus, opens up the internals most of us never think about. Grab a seat: https://reactadvanced.com/
I'm really overwhelmed by how amazing @ryansolid.bsky.social is managing solid, it's RC phase and supports downstream projects like our @yak/solid (npmx.dev/package/@yak...) experiment. Really well done and we can learn a ton out of it.

Looking forward to the next iteration of @zurichjs.com make it happen. It was incredible 😍😍😍
Loved the last talk @zurichjs.com from @danielroe.dev. Very resonated with me and it was fun to influence his talk with emojis. Its important to connect with people and build friendship through the internet ❤️
@tolin.ski animations on his presentation are next level @zurichjs.com and I really feel the important topic slamming right trough my thoughts on AI.
Presenting without slides? This is incredible 🤯Ramona Schwering drawing her presentation live @zurichjs.com was a very good and special experience
Sorry Ramona, I didn't find your handle 😅 @leichteckig.bsky.social Your talk was really awesome
@tej.as makes error situations on stage incredible funny at @zurichjs.com
Best slide so far (no bashing. It was before the official adapter) at @zurichjs.com thanks @philippeserhal.com
We've successfully expanded beyond react. Our first version of solid support is up. npmx.dev/package/@yak... We're working on making this better and faster, but it's great to see that our concept works across frameworks. Let's see which framework comes next 🕵️

Looks like pnpm 12 has poorer compression on pack/publish. For github.com/bluwy/create... (with many duplicated files) the tarball size with pnpm 12 is 823KB, before it's only 89KB.

@webdevs.firefox.com in nightly this animation timeline based carousel navigation is broken are these kind of bugs already known (it is nightly after all) or is it new?
Is it just me or is the search of @bsky.app not very good? If I search for posts with "next-yak" I get some random posts about yaks 😅 I mean I know how you got there, but the experience could be better
dx-styles.dev/blog/state-o... Worth a read and something we try to cover in an upcoming benchmark 🕵️
Finally got around and bought tickets to @zurichjs.com was long overdue. Looking forward to meeting you all ☺️

In my audits, reading the Performance profile is where people get stuck: the flame chart and waterfall look like noise at first I built an interactive guide to make them click, every figure is interactive, plus LCP, CLS, INP and the Insights panel perf.reviews/profile-guide #WebPerf #DevTools
My first ever conference talk "The Internals of compile-time CSS-in-JS" at #ReactAdvanced in London (reactadvanced.com) got accepted 😱🥳🎉 They decided really fast and still have their CFP open until 30.6. gitnation.com/events/react... apply now! Looking forward to meet amazing people
I would love to have something like this for all major bundlers (rolldown, rollup, webpack, rspack and turbopack)
I was debugging some chunking regressions in an app I work on when updating from Vite 7 to Vite 8. I got an AI to generate a tool to help figuring out what was wrong, and I uploaded it at nicolo-ribaudo.github.io/vite-compare/ in case it's useful for anybody else.
