Allegedly, the X-Men cartoon theme was ripped off from Linda, a Hungarian show that ran from 1984 to 1991. The composer filed a lawsuit that was settled out of court. To me, the similarities sound a little too close to be a coincidence. Either way, this Linda intro absolutely rules.

Despite the #Anfield pitch being waterlogged for the 1973 #UEFACup Final, 1st leg against #BorussiaMönchengladbach, the referee gave the go ahead to start. The rain intensified after kick off and the match was abandoned after 27 minutes with match played the following day. @refbooks.bsky.social

“The appetite for jumping into Venezuela right now is pretty low,” one oil industry source told CNN. “The president’s desire is different than the industry’s. And the White House would have known that if they had communicated with the industry prior to the operation.” www.cnn.com/2026/01/05/b...

A key factor to be considered is the poor quality of the Venezuelan crude, high density, high sulphur content. This, together with the high cost of extraction in the Orinoco belt, doesn't make it such attractive to western oil companies trying to "greenwash" their activity (1/2)

But arrogance and ignorance don't give a damn about all of these facts, he's driven by the simplicistic (and false) equation huge oil reserves => huge business, no matter the cost, whether it's financial or environmental. (2/2)

Always found the separate double-stripes-on-sleeves shirt one of the best ever... and hope it will be restored, someday. Funfact, back then I was a 16 yo midfielder, and sorta Danner-lookalike 😁

More incredible footage from this concert. It's not on the official Midnight Special YT page. Besides Airto & Hermeto, the group features David Amaro and the Fattoruso brothers (aka the band Opa). The tune, "Andei (I Walked)", was written by Hermeto. youtu.be/UqJ6byQw3eM?...
