We have two counteracting big trends: Energy production decentralization and AI compute centralization. Farmers have figured out that standing up wind generators in their towns and covering their roofs with solar panels is good for the town and for them. The gov't does not need to tell them.

In the end, once all the bullshit is said and the loans and investor dollars are spent, all will have to pay real energy bills for kWh consumed.
