This is just lovely

Stop what you are doing and look at this lovely story. A photography student in the 80s took pictures of punks and mods on the street in Preston. He’s now tracked them down and photographed them again. The pictures and stories are really ❤️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Every decent person in the Portsmouth area will hopefully be visiting this pub

Ireland against Fascism@irlagainstfascism.bsky.social

Danny Tommo's 'patriot platform' vigilantes were refused service in The George Inn, Portsmouth. They demanded to know why, despite the fact they do not have to be given a reason. Always make bigots feel unwelcome. Show the pub some love for doing the right thing. Things you love to see ✊❤️

This makes me incredibly proud and angry in equal measure. Absolute massive respect to this lad for having the guts to take down their performative garbage, and for him to be a Gooner... ✊🏽🔴⚪️ But watching him get hounded and harassed by a bunch of thick bitter cunts makes my blood boil! 🤬

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

If anything screams, 'we are the party that doesn't care' this is it This nihilist approach to our environment stinks and in the true sense of nihilism suggests the Tory party has lost its way on beliefs and values...but I think we probably knew that already 🫤 www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

A personal story about that phrase “young men of fighting age” applied to asylum seekers. As many of you know I took in a young Ukrainian woman under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. As part of that process, soon after she arrived we were visited by the local authority rep and a Fire Brigade rep.

I’m in London. Walked around and my phone and watch are still with me. Haven’t been subjected to a sharia law court. It’s all good ( lovely- 24 degrees and sat outside the pub in a T shirt)

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

Did you ever meet Bob Kraft?

We all know what to do. You’ll think they’d have given up by now, but on they go

Louise, Prof/Dr@louiselocock.bsky.social

Oh blimey, here we go again. Time to vote in the National Trust AGM to keep so-called 'Restore Trust' off the council. Use the quick vote to ensure we don't split the anti-Restore vote. Or.... 1/2 www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...

So tomorrow I go on gardening leave. From a company I’ve worked for since 1997. I’ll be made redundant on 30th September. They have been an amazing employer. Cannot complain about anything ( bar some casual/ deliberate misogyny over the years 😉). I’m going to miss so many people, so much. Hey Ho

As honoured as I am to see that The Times has picked up my Chagos article practically *word for word*, including my hard-gotten quotes, I’d prefer some credit — or for everyone to read my original FT piece! free link to read the evidently enviable article below (cheaper than a Times sub!) 🌴

Got two tickets for Pulp at Wythenshawe Park tomorrow going spare. £140 face value but would take £100. How many people are even on Bluesky to see this? Not shifting these, am I.

This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

If someone you know is persuaded by Farage's fearmongering over footage of migrants crossing from Morocco to Ceuta, tell them this: Third-country nationals in Ceuta do not have free movement to mainland Spain or the rest of the Schengen area. Spanish officials say over 25K have already returned.

I’ve spent the weekend in that there London. My watch is still on my wrist. I have my phone. I have been from Brixton to Sloane Square and not felt unsafe once. Absolutely top time had by the family and the local pub was £5.50 a pint for San Miguel which is cheaper than anywhere in Chorlton. Happy
