i'm watching the comedy central renewal of futurama, and my position on it has completely reversed since my first viewing. i now think it's marginally better than nothing. it's amazing how much your perspective on things can change as you get older.

Yes, AIs think. You can read their thoughts as they have them. AI companies hide the AI’s thoughts because other AI companies might read them and use those thoughts to train their own AIs. This is all very strange and astonishing science fiction territory but it’s real.

insane how much volkish ideology has been getting mainstreamed by liberals

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com “As white non-Hispanic Americans inch closer to becoming a minority, the mores and manners of the country’s rural working-class increasingly offer a source of authenticity,” Matthew Schmitz writes.

it's so nice to see journalists learn you can never judge a book by its contents or front cover :)

One you might find surprising. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt & members of her team have been extremely helpful in responding to questions I raise. Regardless of public facing commentary, privately they are willing to engage and address questions. And I have appreciated that. Thank you

patient at ER: doctor, my blood pressure and pulse have been fluctuating wildly. i nearly fainted today for no reason. doctor: that sounds concerning. we will not measure your pulse or blood pressure. patient: *waits five hours* nurse: you just have fatigue, go away.

gotta love the mythical strawman white trans woman who works a secure white collar career and panic posts online who gets to serve as the eternal shorthand reason in the eyes of many why we're all annoying delusional people who don't have real problems, but also deserve whatever does happen to us

i always offer to go along to my gf's doctor's appointments because doctors are so fucking worthless. there's no symptom they won't say is anxiety, no evidence they will accept, but if a man says "i've seen her have anxiety and this is something else" suddenly they're sherlock holmes

yesterday, a knight errant born in the year 3642 stumbled from a time portal and caught his balance on my shoulders. seeing that he laid hands on a woman, he shot himself with a disintegration ray. i didn't feel anything, which goes to show how much less insecure i am about passing nowadays.

Everyone who works for the NYT — including my many friends — should be incredibly embarrassed by this statement. The depths to which the NYT will go to back its agenda of challenging trans people's right to exist is horrifying, ongoing, and has caused very real and specific harms to trans people.

The New York Times’s body of reporting on the American Medical Association’s stance on gender-related care for minors is accurate and factual, and remains so despite the recent statement from the Chair of the A.M.A. Board, which contradicts the A.M.A.’s own statements. www.nytco.com/press/fact-c...

descending the staircase to my apartment's garage, i was blocked by the wreck of an old sunken ship which hosted aquatic lifeforms of all kinds. before i could ask, the captain's ghost said we don't get a rent discount just because of the obstruction. it's crazy how this is legal.

After going over poll numbers with his caucus at a meeting this afternoon, Jeffries warned his members to maintain "decorum" and not make any "unforced errors" at the State of the Union tonight, per multiple sources

additionally, the logical skills they use for programming are used within highly controlled environments... and yet they obviously make mistakes that need fixing! sometimes very frequently in an iterative process! they only consider their solutions, but not their incorrect attempts along the way.

If you're in game dev or tech there's many archetypes of Guy, but one of my least favourite is definitely "Guy who is good at programming and has tricked himself into thinking this makes him an Actual Scientist, and now posts regularly about how he uniquely understands the decline of society"
