I usually get better results with Firecrest pics but although there were four feeding in a patch of Holly at Rushcombe, no way would they play ball with me today .Nice to be able to show them to some interested walkers though ,who have not ever seen one . @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Spotted a Roe deer on the path at Rushcombe , then as I walked on there it was behind the gorse and so close .It didn't want to hang around but didn't appear scared. @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
My day for Red Kites around Corfe Mullen. First two seen at Barrows Hill reserve then one over Rushcombe and lastly as I drove up Haywards Lane near home one was flying over the houses at the top. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
Just three butterflies spotted today on a walk around Corfe Barrows and Rushcombe .Clouded Yellow looking a bit worn now . @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @savebutterflies.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
I always think little Egrets look so serene until they discover a good supply of fish .Then this one chased around a small area of the Stour at Eyebridge for twenty minutes non stop , until I guess it wore itself out ๐ @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social 1 of 2
Record shot of Amblyptilia_acanthadactyla , a Geranium Plume moth .Found in my greenhouse which houses a scented geranium . I can't smell it with rubbing the leaves but this moth obviously can . @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
I'm seeing lots more Tree creepers this year . Beautiful birds when you get a good view of them @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
Got really lucky with Tree creepers along the Stour at Wimborne today. In the right light for a change and not bothered by me being just underneath it. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
A new hoverfly to me today nr Wimborne ,thinking Ferdinandea cuprea. @ianbeavis.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
@ianballam.bsky.social thought you might like to see this one found at Lawson's Clump on main track today . Common Bighorn fly fairly scarce I believe .
Could this be Common Bighorn a fairly scarce species of hoverfly ,spotted at Lawson's Clump today @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @dipteristsforum.bsky.social @ianbeavis.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
It was the day to see Minotaur Beetles, Typhaeus typhoeus at Lawson's Clump ,three seen on the main track . Female and male shown here . The male being near the end of its life I think. @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide. @coleopsoc.bsky.social
@Clareslade2 and me saw many Goldcrests at Lawson's Clump but they were very illusive flitting constantly through the trees.I only managed one clear image ๐ @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social

On Corfe Mullen Rec today the Tree creepers were hard to spot in the tangle of twigs and leaves, but when you say 'hello' sometimes one responds ๐ I saw a little family group feeding in holly . @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
What a little beauty . Outside my conservatory door, it let me open it and step outside two meters from it on the rose bush. Still finding greenfly , but they must need so many as they are so small . @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @britishnatureguide.bsky.social
