Remember when Apple's upgrade prices for SSD or RAM were considered highway robbery. Now, due to obvious price fixing and ignoring enforcement of the law for monopolies and anti-trust - heck, even war crimes are legal now - it's a discount! And no media coverage besides @gamersnexus.bsky.social

At least 98 Palestinians have died in Israeli custody since October 2023, and the true death toll is likely higher given that a large number of people detained in Gaza are missing, according to a new report from an Israel-based human rights group, citing official Israeli data and other sources.

WOW. This is so dirty. A few days ago NATO officially axed the E-7 Wedgetail radar-jet plans (officially for “cost/survivability/strategy” reasons — in reality: very overpriced and under-delivering). Yet Republicans quietly slipped ~$200 million into the continuing resolution to keep it alive...

... *against the Pentagon's wishes*. Boeing’s line must go up! Bailouts and welfare for the richest defense contractors and financial institutions is continually treated as perfectly acceptable, but social programs get labelled “communism.” Nope... We need better.

kidnapping torture _rape blackmail assassinations blockade besiegement scholasticide mass starvation genocide ALL THINGS DONE AND TELEVISED every day by the Israeli terrorist regime. Barely mentioned on the front pages of major media. Mostly only words from the world’s powers.

This is amongst the most impactful two minutes of broadcasting I’ve ever seen. By Emma Murphy, International Editor, ITV News. #Gaza

Funny how it’s always “ex-officer” — like the murder came first, and the job loss was just a coincidence. Imagine the media giving that treatment to anyone but police. 📰 “Ex-banker found guilty of laundering millions” Because he no longer works at the bank… where he laundered the millions.

“Market Trader” is mad because he thinks people who don’t want to live to work only want free stuff: i.e. receive benefits/money without producing or contributing anything at all to society, just like he does.

Always surprised at what prompts @firebase.com Studio generates to do what I ask it for. I asked it to help generate an app that would take in text and return an audio of the text in the voice of a reporter from NY in the 1930s. What it did was try to use a text based LLM to solve this by...

by asking: "Please generate the audio data URI for the text provided in the style of a reporter from the 1930s in New York City" lol Obviously it didn't work, but it took me a second wondering why/how the Next.js backend was returning something beginning with: "data:audio/wav;base64,UklGRiwAA..."

This seems like a big deal: The NYPD shared a Palestinian Columbia protester's sealed arrest information with ICE, which promptly detained her and whisked her to a Texas jail. The NYPD claims, without offering evidence, that this doesn't violate NYC sanctuary city laws: apnews.com/article/nypd...

human trafficking via illegal deportations 🇺🇸 and illegal imprisonment 🇸🇻 by governments. i wouldn’t be surprised if this was the plan from the beginning. ( it could be a way for the USA to launder prisoner requests for CIA agents/ppl hired to destabilize/overthrow the Venezuelan gov. )

A pregnant woman was pulled alive from the rubble after an Israeli attack killed seven people, including her youngest daughter, her husband, and her mother in Jabalia, north Gaza.

Baffling how the same brain-dead morons that were complaining about gov. officials simply ASKING Twitter to remove posts are now in full support of X for collaborating with the gov. to threaten and deport citizens and non-citizens alike for their posts against the murder of children! #FreePalestine

If universities value free expression, they should stand with their students in protesting the genocide in Gaza. The Trump admin’s threat to defund them over protests is a blatant violation of First Amendment rights. They must lead by example. They must stand up and defend speech and assembly, 📣✊

if the new tariffs weren't about pulling money from the worker class to save the wealthy, this could've been easily solved by: 1. incentivizing onshore manufacturing investments into both building and employees with tax rebates. (instead of charging everyone else!) 2. [continued in thread...]

2. creating co-op manufacturing plants/spaces in both a local/small research level and building co-up medium sized manufacturing plants. (I know, way to socialist/sensical) 3. investing in EDUCATION for manufacturing. (education is dangerous and woke; I understand)

Severance | season 2: - boring 🥱 - stretched out needlessly - artistic expression (film aesthetics) valued more than anything such as: plot, character development, anything resembling progress or creativity. - (spoiler) the whole season can be summed up in a 3-word event: Jemma got out

the united nations should take a look at sanctions against El Salvador for kidnapping people; imprisoning people who have not committed any crimes in El Salvador (and even in the US as their matters are civil not criminal)

I feel for Mahmoud Khalil. Sadly, pro-Palestinian/anti-Zionist protests have always been ground zero for the gov and its handlers ("donors") to test large, targeted campaigns aiming at shutting down public opposition. Remember his name the next time some moron yells: 'Why do you cover your face?'

The Washington Post is really a rag now. A New York Post level rag. A major major amazon boycott needs to happen and needs to happen soon.

Vice President JD Vance has had little choice but to finesse a productive role for himself in a chaotic White House. His mercurial boss hasn’t yet anointed the 40-year-old as his political successor. And then there is Elon Musk. Vance, those working with him say, is finding his own way.

NEWS: Last night, the Department of Homeland Security detained a Palestinian who helped lead the Columbia encampment. Agents told him his visa was revoked. He said he had a green card. They were confused—then said that was revoked too. His attorney demanded a warrant. Agents hung up instead.

imagine being so broken brained that you can simultaneously deny climate science and be anti-regulations that help slow global warming and reduce greenhouse gases AND thinking that we need to travel to and colonize Mars. 🤯 💩 🧠

Predictions re: AMD GPUs: Releasing both around the same price restrict scalpers. If they try to scalp the 9070 XT, considering the close performance vs. 9070, they can't ask for much. AND the scalpers can't buy the 9070 because they likely think that the price of the 9070 will come down very soon.
