Heads up about the film "By Any Means"... The story of Vernon Dahmer, civil rights martyr (my husband's great uncle), should stand on its own as a deep, complex story of courageous people. Instead, it's a Hollywood action movie that centers a white character. Do your research before seeing this.

With all of these good, decent, brilliant icons passing. I keep thinking of this bit from Defending Your Life: "When you use more than 3% of your brain, you don't want to be on Earth anymore."

So, everyone is just okay with not one moving shot of Mitch leaving the hospital, arriving home...Not one photographer...or anyone with a phone was anywhere close by? This is so fishy...but I guess when literally everything smells fishy, it's easy to miss.

Screaming into the void and preaching to the choir, I know, but our ACA premiums while my husband is between jobs are set to go up from $700 a month (expensive) to $2100 (Insane and impossible) in January if Congress doesn't do anything. Where is that "great NEW plan" they promised?

All it takes is someone who has actual power standing up and doing the right thing. That’s all it takes and yet, somehow…here we are.

If politics are only money...not votes, not ethics, not compassion...then we need to vote with our dollars. Can we stop consuming from companies that have benefited (not all of them, but some)? Can we resist with our money? Is that a language they understand?

Haha. Hilarious. I was able to re-open my personal FB page but because I have like one friend on there (i.e., starting from scratch), everyone thinks it's a spam account and they've probably blocked me. This is pushing SO many buttons. Serves me right.

Funny story: I missed my FB community and accidentally made a new Profile when I wanted a new Account. Deleted the profile and made a new account. I got BANNED for VIOLATING community standards with no content, no friends, NOTHING. Just made one new account. BANNED. How poetic.

Check Asch's conformity study. In contexts when there was a fellow non-conformist, the subject didn't conform to the group. Check the Milgram study. In the context with another voice of protest, the subject failed to go all the way with the shocks. Conclusion? Sticking together matters.

I know there are bigger issues, but if you haven't watched "Adolescence," you are missing a tour-de-force of acting and cinematography. Each episode is filmed in a SINGLE shot. The atmosphere that's created...the simplicity..the acting. It's potentially one of the best things I've ever seen.

Any of you watching "Adolescence"? Damn...Another beautifully made British drama -- perfect acting, not one wasted moment and a thirteen-year-old, virtually untested actor that will break your heart and completely stun you with his ability.

I miss my FB community something awful. I stand by the reason for leaving....but I really, really miss the connection.

Hearing from my infant mental health and parenting communities that the anti-DEI ventures have eliminated autism employment efforts and even infant mental health clinician trainings. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are words that we should be striving for...not things we should be afraid of.

I will not support (as far as I am able) those businesses/corporations who are caving to these inane "because I want to" ideas. This is just the beginning of a slippery slope. Where is their bridge too far going to be?

Okay, California...I see you. Backyard-grown tangerines. Another MAJOR childhood experience...sour and with seeds. So good and takes me right back. Not a bad little unexpected gift. (These dark days, I will take any joy wherever I find it.)

Spent the evening with the inlaws-to-be and their extended family. One of the most adult-y things I've ever done. Also, watching your adult child truly, truly living their fully formed life...so good. #sanjose
