Happy May Day. They can’t kill us all.

For me, getting the first agent rejection email made me excited. That's when it all became real. I'm more excited now than ever. It's like a line in the sand I really want to cross. And I will. 😊

Sooooo, I'm back up to 109,000 words. Ummm, shit. 🙄

Husband: Good morning. Me (an idiot mystery writer): Honey, pretend to attack me and stick a gun to my head, as I pour my coffee. Husband: It's a little early for your bullshit. #booktok #booksky #murderystuff

I finished reading all except Carter's book, that's in process 👍 All great, though The Silent Patient was extra twisty!

I just have to remind myself that writing has no expiration date. And while working to pay the bills and finding time to write isn't easy, it is easier than raising a human. ✌️

Down to 104,000 words, from 109,000, but... The count is destined to go up. I had to plant another character, and it is kudzu...

Listen, I'm never not going to be awkward about answering fan mail. But I am never not going to be super excited and have my entire day made by fan mail, either. All this to say, if you have an author you wanna write, do it. It helps us so much.

I couldn't resist.

Just went to your website oh my God I’m so excited! Congratulations

It's looking like the national book ban HR 7661 could get out of committee. The next action around it is on Tuesday, so there's still time. If your Rep is listed below, call them today! Then get two members of your community (neighbor, family friend) to call them too!

Follow your passion! "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it". While frequently attributed to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, it is actually a free translation of a passage in his work Faust by John Anster (1835).

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!! Please post here, that clip about why you are fighting fire with fire, the impetus being the boy whose parents disappeared, from the packing plant, after 25 years working there. Please post to that to all of us on Bluesky. ✌️

Things I did today instead of doomscrolling 1. Holiday laundry 2. Thrifted 3. Cleaned furniture 4. Wrote 5. Mucked around with friends

Happy Friday! My two rescued fur babies, we had the big one until he was 12-ish, he was 7 when he picked us. 🧡 Our little one was with us until almost 19 years old 😲, sweet thing we named Liebe. 🧡

Here's to the seasoned pens! Never stop doing what you love. Frank McCourt, after spending 30 years as a high school English teacher, published his memoir "Angela's Ashes" in 1996 at age 66. It became a global phenomenon and won the Pulitzer Prize! #WisePen #AuthorInspo #KeepGoing #AuthorJourney

Whether it's writing a masterpiece or starting a new hobby, no matter what your age, you are timeless. Go for it!!! ✌️
