"make no mistakes" negative, unrealistic, anxiety inducing, process focused "do a breakthrough" positive, incredible, aspirational, goal oriented

git-wrapped.com/profiles/Sky... The stars bit is definitely not very accurate (no way in hell I got 180 stars lol) but it's definitely a lot nicer than the githubunwrapped this year

this is fun! not sure about how accurate some of it is (81k stars?!) but very cool! ✨ git-wrapped.com/profiles/dan...

For the tech stack, I used wxt.dev, @svelte.dev, and tailwind! Extension dev is definitely a bit more painful than normal webdev - I have to basically do RPC from a "main world" script (what runs in a Figma tab) to an "isolated world" content script to a background script to bypass CORS :/

wxt.devNext-gen Web Extension Framework – WXTWXT provides the best developer experience, making it quick, easy, and fun to develop web extensions. With built-in utilities for building, zipping, and publishing your extension, it's easy to get sta...

also side note: mozilla add-ons is *way* nicer to publish to than chrome web store - approvals in under an hour, more freedom over your page, nicer UI, no fees...

claude would probably have a lot more market share if they actually let you use claude sonnet and have more than 5 messages/day on the free plan

Svelte dropped this update the day after I ran into an issue with stores :D

Day 16 — `$app/state`, a modern Svelte 5 state-based replacement for SvelteKit's `$app/stores` module. No more clunky `$` prefix when reading values, just fine-grained state that works everywhere, even outside component files! 🎁 docs svelte.dev/docs/kit/$ap... 🎁 tutorial svelte.dev/tutorial/kit...

i've been trying to reverse engineer Google Find My Device, and it's been, uh, painful :/ since they use both gRPC and Protobuf, seem to be base64-ing protobuf blobs (??) within the json grpc, and I don't have a schema..

exactly! typescript has genuinely saved so much time for me - if it didn't exist, I probably would've given up web dev altogether

Matt Pocock@mattpocock.com

Everyone I know who fell in love with TS had a period of thinking it totally sucked

in a perfect world we would have a language with the type system and package manager of rust, the compile times of go, the package ecosystem of typescript and js/ts hot reloading

it's update time! - completed day 1 of #adventofcode - wrote a small blog post for my new site - and got 220 visits!! - tried to learn dijkstra's algorithm - did some hackathon planning (zenithhacks.org) - added a drafts system to my blog (skyfall.dev) - fixed contact link page

Well i didn't get to do anything for a bit (because busy :/) but I managed to cook up some more stuff for my personal site! - I added generated OG images! (e.g. skyfall.dev/posts/first-...) not super pretty, and they don't show up on bsky for some reason, but they do show up on twitter/discord! 🧵

going to be posting daily updates, because why not! today, I: - mostly worked on my personal website - fixed status colours (turns out tailwind jit wasn't picking up on em) - fixed my blog post layout (it wasn't the proper width before) - updated the blog post preview now live at skyfall.dev :)

- I also added some more OG tags in general, like the description and site name! - Actually added a favicon! - Switched to Vercel, because CF Pages didn't play ball with Sharp :/

windows 11 setup is genuinely so bad "do you want microsoft 365 pro?" "do you want microsoft 365 basic?" "sign in to a microsoft account!" "can we use your location for ads?" "can we send your ink data to microsoft?"
