This is a real deep cut but does anyone remember when the now Mammamia CEO was 19 his mum published an incredibly embarrassing and graphic "five things porn didn't teach me about sex" article which now appears to be retracted: mumbrella.com.au/5-things-dr-...

Just let the woman storm out!!! Let her be herself!!! Who she is sucks and people rightly want to be mean to her about it!!!
If @crikey.com.au rumour turns out to be true, the NPC should be ashamed and every journo worth their salt should resign. Answers please from the journos. Clear this up on the record. #Hanson #NPC
The lack of empathy from upper management to the POC/LGBT+/disabled people they manage is honestly so baffling. I regularly found myself shocked at how unwilling they could be to make themselves uncomfortable to create safe workplaces for their staff.
You just know that every time anyone remotely off-white / working class leaves what is effectively a culturally unsafe workplace management puts it down to a personal flaking out that justifies their preferred approach of cookie cutter status quo hires and promotions

Incredible indictment that one can be nostalgic for the limp inadequacies of the Howard-era media class
The new McCarthyist era of the Australian press has completely hamstrung its ability to react to Hanson. The Gaza war and journalists' inability to hold their organisations to journalistic principles since 2023 cost newsrooms the lived experience and perspectives needed by silencing the oppressed.

We can't do this thing again where we make racism an argument between white people. First Nations, people of colour, people from migrant backgrounds must be given space to lead & question, and must feel safe to do so. We've failed again and again on this, and it's a huge part of why Hanson is back.

Thinking about the lack of diversity in news rooms, prominent journalists of colour/migrant backgrounds who've been hounded out, and First Nations journalists who've left due to racism and lack of cultural safety and respect. All of this makes it easier for Hanson.

Rip junkee. The annoying and mostly inaccessible archive has made it much harder for me to spam you all with my articles from 2020 which show exactly how right I was at the time.
Feeling myself develop a new pet peeve which is the people online who are very smug yet very wrong about what happened in the coverage of the 2016 election in the US and the take aways from it
Why are billionaires allowed to organise out in the open like this? If lefties and anti-zionists were calling to smash the state so brazenly they'd get a visit from the special branch and a van parked out front. These women are openly plotting to make our lives worse www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06...
It's not even that much of a risk that she wins seats or forms government, imo. The risk is what the Liberal party becomes because of this.
Hanson/One Nation will succeed in pulling Australia further to the right and making it a worse place to live because this country is still too committed to its white supremacist identity. We would rather go back to the White Australia policy than pursue an equitable country.

TLDR : Naughty neo-Nazis Jacob Hersant & Michael Nelson were convicted & fined $3,000; Nathan Bull & Ian Lomax $1,800 & $1,500 respectively (& avoided conviction). I doubt their millionaire sponsors will struggle with those amounts! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06...

Oh fuck off I thought I saw a guy who looked like Sewell at Eltham train station a few stops from Hurstbridge earlier this year but I was like “I’m probably being paranoid, it’s just a generic white guy with a moustache and an egg-like head, they’re a dime a dozen “ www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06...
Albanese continues to be a shining example of how hollow politics have become. He's spent his life a principled man but has had to cast aside all of his beliefs once he gained real power. Either his principles aren't real or he has no power to change anything. The system is captured.
The Prime Minister once warned that selling off Sydney Harbour’s public assets would be a “retrograde step” because “if we get it wrong once, it disappears forever.” I’m calling on the Government to protect this site for future generations, not carve it up for the highest bidder.
Kinda crazy to me that one of the country's biggest morning TV show hosts has been giving soft-ball interviews to a range of extremist right-wing freaks and no one seems to care. I also have to wonder whether or not this has anything to do with the rise of one nation. Probably nothing to worry about
With the benefit of hindsight, it's very funny to me that they went harder than expected and still fucked it up. Labor can't communicate their vision for a better country and soon we get PM Pauline [hyperbole]. They're constrained by the shackles Hawke's accord built, so maybe there is no vision.
Labor's opposition is eating itself and the best it can offer on housing reform is a change to the CGT benefit. A once-in-a-generation shake up in the country's political order and Labor is continuing to chase the small target strategy. Embarrassing.
