I feel like emailing my designer, dramatically, “no overhead direct lighting in this house because I AM GAY!!!!”

Oh Lord, we’re venturing to heterosexual San Francisco. (North Beach) St. Harvey Milk, pray for us. 🏳️‍🌈

If you’ve spent years and years of your life not knowing what the sunk-cost fallacy is, it’s probably not worth learning it now.

You know you live in the Castro in San Francisco when your husband—who is resting his leg on you contemporaneously—is the fourth closest person on the grid. 😅

Booked the Atlantis Barcelona to Rome cruise next summer. 🇪🇸☀️☀️☀️🇮🇹 Who else is going???

I have more herbs than I know what to do with. I’ve had salsa verde and chimichurri twice this week! And the kale re-do (this time without caterpillars) is looking good with radishes coming in strong.

Another update: ICE didn’t appeal my client’s asylum grant! They win 94% of the time now, but here they were well and truly beaten, and my client is now as safe in the United States as any non-citizen can be. 🏳️‍🌈

Update: I WON. I beat those evil fucking fucks at ICE. There is a small measure of justice in this country still! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

I went to type “prove it!” 😏 And Apple autocorrected to “Pepcid it!” And I hate being 40.

At 20, I was absolutely horrified that I was gay and refused to accept it. At 40, I see being gay as one of the biggest blessings in my life. I can’t imagine not being gay. I would never choose another life. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Someone did one of those “consent checks” for their green circles on IG and I accidentally clicked “remove” and I want to die.

The more I read about the early Christian church the more hilariously apparent it becomes that none of them—the closest to Jesus and the apostles— believed anything most evangelicals believe about anything.

They actually all seemed like vaguely redistributionist subversive Orthodox/Catholic quasi-liberals

This is utterly offensive and thankfully meaningless. Minnesota’s judges acted ethically. Defending the rule of law is only recently—as a result of this administration—even remotely political.

Minnesota Star Tribune@startribune.com

Minnesota's chief federal judge criticized the federal government's violations of court orders during Operation Metro Surge. Now the Trump administration is filing judicial misconduct complaint against U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz and seven other judges.

Hawaiian Thanksgiving = booked 🌺🍍 I have to be in Korea for work before, so it’s kind of on the way home?

No matter how much I eat or drink, I always lose weight in Europe! I went super hard this trip and down 4 lbs. 😅 I also don’t eat a ton of processed food (by comparison to average) and walk/bike/transit almost everywhere so the usual “processed food and walking” answer doesn’t make sense.

To clarify - my *normal* life in San Francisco doesn’t have a lot of processed food/driving - so I’m not sure what the difference is for me!

Two weeks in Europe without a single trip to the ATM and within 24 hours of landing in San Francisco I’m asked to pay a $25 *cash only* cover. 😤

You know it’s a gay business meeting when someone has to take a break in the middle to buy Mariah Carey Christmas show tickets. 🏳️‍🌈🎄

Things have changed so quickly in the last few years with regard to European travel. Electronic passport gates with short lines and no need to talk to an officer. Two weeks and haven’t needed to go to an ATM once. Tap to pay for everything. So easy!

Me on the first day of an international trip: “fuck American brands really spread like a virus” Me on the last day: “🎶LOVE THAT CHICKEN FROM POPEYES!🎶”

I saw this Ride across Wisconsin shirt at a vintage shop and just had to have it. I love cycling and cycling in Wisconsin is so pretty!

London’s strategy appears to be to make driving absolutely miserable and expensive and to make public transit and bikeshare widely available and I am absolutely here for it.

Transit feels a bit pricey but I assume the price are programs to help folks who are lower income/younger etc like there are in San Francisco. I also think the bike infrastructure needs some work but it’s harder in older cities.

Off to London, Madrid, and Sitges on the upper deck of the A380! ✈️🇬🇧🇪🇸 Back to SF for Folsom, don’t worry. 😈

En route to El Paso for an asylum trial for a gay Palestinian man that I’ve represented for a decade. I’m very nervous, not because I haven’t done this a number of times before, but because the law matters so little now in Trump’s deportation machine. Vibes/prayers/thoughts are very welcome!

This. We have a car (electric) for a variety of commute/Bay Area lifestyle reasons, but our “second” transit mode is my e-bike/e-bike share. By far, the fastest and easiest way of getting many places in San Francisco.

Going car-free is great, but don't forget about families who could use a cargo bike (or minicar) as their second or third vehicle. The potential market is much, much bigger!

I don’t know what about me sitting at a sushi bar on a solo sushi date reading a Kindle suggested I wanted to talk to someone. But when the chatty guy next to me asked me what I was reading, my reply that I’m reading the monastic Desert Fathers and Mothers shut him up. 😅
