@patrickhwillems.bsky.social Thanks for the Munich video. I had the chance to work with Spielberg on 2 movies: Tintin & The BFG. Dailies where like film school. He’s my favorite director. I have 3 ‘Oners’ on my reel. Tintin fun fact: Lighters used Munich as reference for the colors of the locations.

@gruber.foo My record uptime on linux was 165 days. After IT upgraded my machine to 256GB I was unstoppable for all of crunch time for Avatar 2. This was also some most insane complex stuff I ever did on my workstation. I hate rebooting!

One of America’s greatest achievements is making an annual tradition out of watching ads for 3 hours straight with brief Football intermissions.

The moon at night is not very bright. It's bright like a piece of paper lit by a candle 1.8m away. Moon lighting in movies is done by adding lights on set to mimic a moon.

If you would shoot a full moon with a very sensitive camera, it would look like daylight as the moon is just grey bounce card with the same angular size in the sky as the sun. #moon #vfx #lighting

I Love the soft warm lighting of: If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) DIRECTOR - Barry Jenkins @bandrybarry CINEMATOGRAPHER - James Laxton COLORIST - Alex Bickel

Time Travel Stevie Stardust TV Series, 1999 I tried a few faky things to make this look good. This was before the use of Ray-Traceing or ambient occlusion for production.

I ❤️ to organize my work with sticky notes. I stick the flat on my desk. When I finished a task I move them to the ‚done pile‘. I prefer that over digital or paper notebooks as I can see task clearing up. Most of the time it’s a simple reminder. Sometimes it‘s to clarify my mind to improve a shot.

You are up to date.
