#Asemulator update! (v1.0.2) Some fixes related to backgrounds and configurations. Slices with bounds outside your canvas will be loaded correctly now πŸ‘

It's been roughly a month since the official release of Asemulator, and I just wanted to thank you all for downloading, sharing, and buying it! Took some time to rest, and I'm ready to work on new updates for y'all πŸ‘€

Asemulator launch offer ends soon! Less than 24 hours to grab the template bundle at a reduced price β€” don't miss it! (After it ends, Asemulator's template bundle will return to its standard price)

To celebrate the release, the Asemulator template bundle will be on sale for one week! Don’t miss the opportunity~ * Due to some restrictions on itchio's sales and bundles, the launch offer will only apply to the template bundle. Sorry for the inconvenience. πŸ™

One of my favorite ways to use #Asemulator? As an enhanced preview window! Aseprite's preview is great for working on single animations, but when that animation is part of a complex motion, Asemulator is the way~ Get ready for the big release in 3 days!

In Asemulator, the Top-down and Side-scroller templates let you define custom action states for your character: crouching, attacking, jumping… whatever you need! Hope you're ready to test animation cancels and transitions in Aseprite without timeline spaghetti 🍝 [1/2]

While it may look intimidating at first, configuring simple actions is very easy. In fact, if your sprite’s tags are set up cleanly, most of the work is already done! Here’s a video of creating a Jump action from a fresh sprite (no saved configuration) in a few seconds [2/2]

#Asemulator news! Asemulator has entered its final testing phase! Last few weeks have been all about fixing bugs and adding QoL features while finalizing the demo sprites. Being able to use the final product is like a dream come true. Can't wait for you all to experience it!

#Asemulator news! The end of the year is approaching, and I believe it’s about time to share more information about the long-awaited release of Asemulator. 1/11🧡

Compared to the free one, paid templates will include most features you can think of: Highly customizable actions for all kinds of animations, β€œRPG-like” tile-based movement, wall jumps, ledge grabs, and many more features! More info on these before the big release. 10/11 🧡

Alright, that’s it for today! Once again, I apologize for the extended wait. I know many of you have been eager to get your hands on Asemulator. Feel free to ask any questions you have here πŸ‘ Happy New Year, and see you in 2026! 11/11 🧡

Asemulator and the Platformer template will remain available for free. The Top-down and Side-scroller templates will be available for $7.99 each. A pack including both paid templates will be available for $11.99 (i.e. the second template is 50% off). 8/11🧡

Additionally, for one week after release, the prices for each template and the pack will be reduced to $6.99 and $9.99 respectively! Make sure to follow this account so you don’t miss out on the opportunity 😌 9/11🧡

2) Most of the documentation is still missing. Now that Asemulator is filled with features, there needs to be a reliable source of information covering everything that’s available. This also includes working on example sprites, which are the best way to get started! 6/11🧡

3) I need to take care of some paperwork and boring administrative stuff on my side, in order to sell Asemulator. Boring stuff overall, so I won't bother going into the details hahaha Speaking of money, here’s the plan for Asemulator’s pricing: 7/11🧡

1) Aseprite’s API has improved significantly since my last post, and now include a few very important and needed features. While some are still missing from the official stable version, it’s only a matter of time before they become available (likely around January). 4/11🧡

In short, I’ll need some time to make small adjustments and integrate them, improving the user experience as much as possible. Big shoutouts to the @aseprite dev team for working on those! 5/11🧡

First of all, Asemulator is officially feature complete! Which basically means it's ready for release. Of course, there are still plenty of small improvements to make and surely some hidden bugs to fix, but those can wait until after the big release hahaha 2/11🧡

I know I previously said I’d release it before the end of 2025, but everything isn’t quite ready yet! Sorry about that πŸ™ So what’s still missing? Basically, three things: 3/11🧡

What you see above is the unedited output from the gif export feature by the way! (using the upcoming Top-down template) With the right speed values and resolution, it looks just like the real thing haha

#Asemulator news! I know, it's been a while haha Despite the lack of updates, Asemulator development is still ongoing, more than ever! I've been working extra hard for the past few months, and we're getting closer and closer to the long-awaited release. [1/5]

I spent most of that time on the upcoming templates, and the action system is already fully functional! Quite flexible, packed with features, and (hopefully) accessible enough for everyone to have fun with. Here's a sneak peek of the "Edit action" menu, for the Jump action you see above: [2/5]

As for the extension's development part itself, there's only one major feature left to implement, so we're slowly but surely reaching the end of it! I'll make sure Asemulator releases before the end of 2025 πŸ’ͺ [4/5]

I plan on posting a bit more frequently as well, to show some of the things I've implemented so far in detail. I'll also be giving more info about the release and what's to come, so feel free to follow this account for more juicy news about Asemulator! [5/5]

Onto the big question: How long before release? There's still quite a lot of uncertainties, especially regarding unavoidable issues caused by missing API features on Aseprite's side, as well as marketing/selling related stuff I'll have to do. So basically, I don't really know either haha [3/5]

#Asemulator update! v0.5.3 is now available :) It includes "in-app" documentation, a new reload button for backgrounds, and a lot of bug fixes The platformer template was also updated, don't forget to download it! (Patch notes can be found on itch.io)

You are up to date.
