I’m making more shapey abstract guys for general purpose stuff. This one’s name is Brik! #animation #lowpoly #blender

Since I effectively cancelled the game he was gonna be in, I wanted to give the cast a fresh start and a new project. Only time will tell what that means exactly, but I hope to use them more in the future!

I’m back!! I had hand surgery shortly after my last animation so I wasn’t able to do much for a couple weeks. It’s nice to finally get this one out!

Apparently my newest vid got reuploaded a bunch of times on TikTok. I’m not even mad lol. I’m just amazed at how far it’s spread

Teto has her own face textures now! Also fixed the weight painting issues that made her hips bend weird. #kasaneteto #blender

WIP progress, her face rig works! She’s just using my mascot’s face rn. I’ll probably draw a better one for her later haha #kasaneteto #blender #wip

Was hoping to get that new game I’ve been working on out at the end of April, but I’m not sure that’s happening. Aiming for mid-May

Also level design for this game is sooooo much easier than it ever was for Inkwell. Why on earth did I make my first ever game project so complicated???

Just realized I made a fatal syntax error in my website blog that made apostrophes and quotes not display correctly. And it’s been like that for over a week… I fixed it now tho!

Been working on a new game and I have to say, it’s really liberating. It’s also made me realize just how bad Inkwell’s movement code was. It took almost no effort and far less code to get comparable movement in this new game

That’s unsurprising since Inkwell was largely built off of refactored Unity code I wrote nearly 3 years ago. Nothing short of a full rewrite would’ve fixed that and I just didn’t have it in me to restart development again

This has been a long time coming, but I'm confident enough in my decision now to say that my long-time game project, Inkwell, will be going on an indefinite hiatus. (1/6)

So what does that mean for Inkwell itself? The game as it stands is done. I'm moving on. But I won't be abandoning the ideas that worked. You may still see the characters around on my socials, and some day I may return to the project with new and better ideas. (5/6)

The original concept was a hodgepodge of ideas from childhood games I liked, both on the art and gameplay sides. The ideas I originally grabbed no longer appeal to me, and spending years trying to retool it into something I'd still enjoy making has left me burnt out. (3/6)

So why am I saying "indefinite hiatus"? The truth is... I still love these characters and the world I made for them. The game as a whole may be a mess, but I still came out if it with things I could be proud of. It'd feel like a waste to abandon all of it. (4/6)

The project started all the way back in 2020, at which point I was very new to game development and had never finished a personal project before. Things have changed a lot since then, and what I've left myself with is a bit of a mess. (2/6)

Also the url is my full name bc I made it as part of my college final. Not that I'm trying to stay anonymous or anything, but I like having more control over my public-facing persona

Showcasing the new model for my mascot/sona! His name is Maru btw since I don’t think I’ve ever said that here haha #lowpoly #blender #oc
