Thanks for everyone who came up to me at LBX about the tutorial zine I made these for. Gonna redo it while using it as an opportunity to do vis dev for my project Mythic and kind of 2 and 1 it!
If you're a Steven Universe fan, you'll recognize a familiar name in the corner of this Invader Zim fan art sent in to Game Informer as envelope artwork in 2002: Rebecca Sugar!
Always neat coming across stuff like this.

Man that first 'borrowing' sequence is always on my mind as having the most incredible layout work and sound for the tiny scale.
I've got to get myself to the cinema for it again

What could it mean that my 3yo nephew saw the candle inside a jack o lantern, and said 'happy birthday Uncle marc'?
I was not there, nor was my birthday recent

a little mini tip for Krita/PS/CSP etc. you can separate black lines from a white page by using a gradient map with black on one side, and transparency on the other
For the first time, this week I was in the position of looking at reels and picking the team for the next mini project at work. I'm glad they asked me, but it felt pretty bad to have to make decisions that impact people's real life income
I had to *not keep* a friend who I know really wanted the job, in the interest of fairly judging the reels and reliability of each animator.
I felt a bit 2-faced to my friend, but you've gotta be fair, and all the other animators might have needed the job just as much
Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse:

Hello! I'm a 2D animator by day, and I will also be selling prints of my animal drawings to raise money for Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland (and some originals) www.marchendry.com
Every once in a while, I need little help getting inspired when I struggle animating. Because of this, I keep a few choice .mp4's of animated scenes/sequences in a folder on my desktop to look at when I need that little boost. Not to copy from, but to remind why I love this, why I want to do it too.
"A.i." is a tool of fascism.
These LLMs are controlled by far right billionaires and absolutely can be manipulated to crank up racism, bigotry, and fascist lies.
Keep this shit out of schools, government, and every aspect of your lives.
CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale noticed that President Donald Trump's administration has now changed its AI chatbot so that it no longer reveals the so-called "big lie."
And thatโs a capital D Disdain: โThere will be a point where a bunch of artists express worry about what weโre doing here and weโll likely ignore their concerns and release anyway.โ (5/7)
