I work in web development and have seen an increase in emails from clients asking me for things they don’t understand because ChatGPT has told them they need to do it. Its costing me time and money to explain what these concepts are and whether they’re necessary or a good idea to clients.

There’s this moment in projects where you look at what you’ve created and you’re like, wtf am I doing, is this a waste of time, and it’s really hard but that’s when you need to lean in and trust the process. This is my trust the process moment, this will be cool eventually.

There have always been people who did little to nothing in businesses and AI is just another tool for them to look productive. I just had a meeting with a guy who had a bunch of AI slop, but when I asked him about any of the goals, the conversion metrics, the business, anything, he came up blank.

In Grade 7 we had a teacher twice a week every week and before she let anyone out for lunch she made every one do a solo from Swing Low Sweet Chariot, and it was mortifying and I hated it BUT it was resilience building. You couldn’t just say the words, you needed to do a performance, it was wild.

I’ve had a streak of artistic failures over the last month so this weekend I took a second and went back to basics, I just created a little guy, that’s all, why, it was something I knew I could do and after creating him it helped remind me I’m not the worst artist to ever art.
