A rainy but very warm welcome in Henleaze this morning. The Bristol North West Labour team and I get out and about all year round to listen to local residents - come rain or shine!

Bristol North West is home to some brilliant high streets - including Gloucester Road, with the longest stretch of independent shops in Europe. The Government is putting power back in the hands of local people, backing local businesses and giving communities a real say over their high streets.

200 constituents joined me at St Monica’s Trust to watch the People’s Emergency Briefing on climate change, followed by an important conversation and Q&A with Dr. Alix Dietzel from the University of Bristol.

This. It only confirms what the majority of us already know but the hard of thinking Reformers could do with watching it. Everyone knows at least one 'white, angry old man', show them.

The French made a short film about what could happen after all immigrants would follow the ‘white, angry old man’s’ advice to go back where they came from.

Another £36M donation has been made to Reform, taking the total amount in the last 24 hours to a total of £72M. This is a huge problem for British democracy, and it needs to be addressed. We cannot risk our democracy being sold off to the highest bidder, who sets to benefit from a Reform Government.

Dolly Parton did all the good she could, for all the people she could, for as long as ever she could. From her legendary songwriting to the Imagination Library—which sent 1 million books a month to children across the country—she was the best of America. Dolly, we'll miss your great heart.

Great to see funding from the West of England Combined Authority helping make a real difference here at the Key Cafe. Through Connect to Work, the Restore Trust will support around 140 people with complex barriers to employment to move into sustainable work.

How many weeks since Andy Burnham stole the Labour leadership and Prime Minister role and he still makes me feel 🤮. His flannel hasn’t convinced me .

The economy is starting to turn the corner thanks, in part, to the actions of the Labour Government. But the conflict in Iran will increase energy and food prices. It’s right the PM supports people through difficult times while delivering a credible long term plan to improve living standards.

Britain's relationship with Europe matters: for our economy, for our security, for our future. We’ve reset that relationship, from improving trade and cooperation to restarting youth mobility. There's still more to do - because a stronger partnership with Europe means a stronger Britain.

Me too, this is the first time in Labour's long history a sitting Labour PM has been ousted by the PLP (not the party members). It's a shameful, shabby episode and has disillusioned many members, a few like me now ex members.

I see Burnham is crowing about the 100 new mental health centres opening this autumn. Obviously not mentioning it's all down to the Keir Starmer administrator. Wtf is he going to do when there is nothing left to steal the credit for?

The record temperatures, wildfires and drought we have seen in the UK & Europe is climate change in action. There is hope. It has been a record year for renewable energy generation, all new homes will have solar panels from next year. But we must accelerate the transition to clean & green energy.

🧵 1/ After another week of reporting on Nigel Farage and Reform UK’s finances, I still have major questions about who is actually funding them, and whether it was properly declared. Farage and his cronies have responded with bluster and mudslinging. So let's look at the actual facts.

It was great to meet with Exolum and 7CO2 to hear about their plans for a UK-leading carbon capture, utilisation and storage terminal at Avonmouth Docks. This project could unlock up to £200 million of investment, creating new jobs and helping drive the transition to a cleaner economy.

From the campaign trail and the media studios to the Treasury, No10 and the Cabinet Office. It’s been a privilege to be in the cabinet of a Labour government and to serve the country. Andy Burnham has called to tell me I won’t be a part of his cabinet. I wish him and his team every success.

We Starmer ultras (only 20 of us apparently) are deluded if we think Starmer will be remembered kindly by history. He took Labour from zero to number 10 in 4 years, 30 bills passed the legislative stages in his 2 years in office and he's just been awarded the Legion d'honneur. Deluded, nah.

It's heartbreaking isn't it - the morons who have ousted him aren't going to be respected in the same way internationally. Well done to Keir regardless.

The French have intelligence and class . Something now, very sadly lacking in this country. We have dumbed down to MAGA proportions. God help us all .

Does anyone else still feel, what is happening within the Labour Party is surreal and you’ll wake up soon and realise it’s just been a very bad nightmare 😱

Just read the list of MP’s who backed Burnham including my own . It’s like a stake through the heart, fuck them all , a crowd of cheating, grifting bastard’s . They have cheated us all and put forward a 1st class chump to be our PM .

Oh , how nice you find hilarious o, 2 time loser gets another shot but with no opposition this time. They are without shame and particularly the PLP. 50% jobs for the girls in the cabinet demanded by some of the plotter’s Secretary of State for dog catcher’s to get everyone in who’s owed.

Burnham as PM , our day of shame. As I watched Gordon Brown and his lovely family walk out of 10 Downing St for the last time , I wept with the emotional of it all . However Gordon and our Party had been defeated in a fair and democratic election .

Next week Sir Keir and Lady Starmer will walk out for the last time , not by a democratic process but behind closed doors plotting of a few and the utter weakness of many . If I’m able to watch another fine Labour Prime Minister leave office , my anger might be directed at the tv screen this time

There was always a very strong chance that Farage, nothing more than a grifter, would implode under the weight of his own corruption The problem is Labour MPs, instead of holding their nerve, joined Burnham's coup Now we're stuck with the coronation of a self-regarding lightweight as PM Farcical
