So much time wasted on certain apps lately. There’s no point feeling worthless or sorry for myself (though it would be so easy to go down that route), I’m just a tired of the same rigmarole of chat, false hope, dead ends and ghosting.

Managed 60 lengths today. I was sharing a lane with a lady who was a really good pace setter. Then I had a good steam afterwards 🧖🏻‍♂️ I did have a giggle watching some of the sillier antics of the aqua aerobics class going on at the same time.

I get like that sometimes too.

Traffic cones reared in the wild. Ready to migrate and soon settle atop a statue. The natural world (particularly in Scotland) really is a wonder.

Talked myself out of going to the gym again today. Any gains made earlier this year have all been lost. Lots of general busyness elsewhere means I’ve just not been able to forge a routine over the summer. But I’m not going to beat myself up about it.

Not even reading M.R. James stories, just reading a chapter of a book *about* them and it is enough to invoke the heebie jeebies. Suddenly feel a bit wary about what might lurk in shadows of my wee flat 👻

Very rare instance of me going out and having a couple of pints this evening.🍺 My younger self wouldn’t recognise me.

Okay, I am now dealing with choice paralysis. Which book to read? SO many to choose from.

I should never finish a book this close to bedtime. It gets me all excited about starting another.

Also discovered that I can make a long, steady exhale of “gawd almighty” while swerving Fringe tourists last more or less the entire length of Leith St.

First proper workout in weeks and, lo and behold, I feel good for doing it. My lack of motivation lately has been ridiculous (much like the consequent weight gain!)
