A follow-up to our post about the recent proliferation of AI creations in our community content programs at @drivethrurpg.com and our efforts to combat it... 🧵

Update on the use of AI text in Chaosium Community Content programs @drivethrurpg.com. TL/DR: Don't use it in our programs. AI is not art. It is theft from you and every writer who has gone before you, repackaged dishonestly and shamelessly as original. www.chaosium.com/blogupdate-o...

Out now! Pendragon: The Boy King is both an epic campaign spanning nearly twenty years of game play and an indispensable toolkit for running Pendragon in the early years of Arthur’s reign. #pendragon #ttrpg #rpg bit.ly/4zRCB8u

Roleplaying games are a way for humans to imagine and explore. We do not permit AI text in the Chaosium community content program, and sadly we're getting quite good at smelling it. To paraphrase HPL's description of the Necronomicon, AI text reeks with an unholy and unidentifiable stench.

It's the 8th anniversary of the passing Chaosium founder Greg Stafford and on Oct 21st we're launching a new edition of his masterwork The Great Pendragon Campaign. Here, for the foreword, Greg, depicted as a senior monk, passes the mantle of Pendragon to his chosen literary successor David Larkins.

With @markmwrites.bsky.social in the GM's chair, we did some final playtesting for the new #RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha Revised rulebook last night: specifically, the ease of looking up stuff on the fly.

Carl T. Ford was a chap of rare energy and enthusiasm. Writing for and distributing his Call of Cthulhu and Lovecraftian fanzine Dagon opened the way for so many more friendships. It’s marvelous to see RPG historian @shannonappelcline.bsky.social set down the history of Dagon Press.

A new bit of history out today, a complete index and history of Dagon magazine, the very first, legendary Call of Cthulhu fanzine published by Carl T. Ford in the '80s. zinedex.designers-and-dragons.com/chaosium/dag...
