"Political violence" is something bad that happens between political factions in a democracy. Fascism is not a political faction in a democracy. Fascism undermines the very notion of democracy. Fascists have abdicated any claim to political civility, which they only ever claim for themselves anyway.

Congestive heart failure, I'd say (not an MD). Edema in the ankles. Bruising on the back of one hand - frequent IV diuretics? The heavy diuretics alone could be responsible for chronic kidney disease. His slipping in and out of abject, inarticulate confusion would then suggest renal encephalopathy.

I'm not allowed to reply to this post, so I guess I'll have to quote it. How is this ruling going to be enforced? Trick question. It's fucking NOT going to be enforced. The judiciary no longer has any means of enforcement against the executive branch.

Also today on Techdirt, I wrote about Judge Howell's order issuing a permanent injunction blocking Trump's attempt to drive Perkins Coie out of business. She even calls out the law firms that capitulated.

If manufacturing returns to the US, it's only going to employ a few engineers and designers, not factory workers. Any new factories are going to be 100% "AI" and robotics. (And yes, this will be a disaster.) Gee, I wonder if there's an oligarch who owns both an "AI" company and a robotics company.

If you think this can’t happen, remember that of the 125,000 Japanese Americans who were interned during WWII for years without charge or trial, two-thirds were U.S. citizens. Including me.

Hi folks: Facebook appears to be taking down my posts. Please remember they are available for free here (no paywall), and can be received by email (also free-- just don't put in your credit card information). I guess if I'm being banned I'm doing something right?

The government ignored his protective legal status & deported Abrego Garcia. “Now they claim that the court is powerless to order any relief. If that’s true, the immigration laws are meaningless because the government can deport ANYONE & no court can do anything about it once it’s done.”

This thread is WILD. It appears as though the tattoos pictured in Trump’s Tren de Aragua checklist for deportation were all lifted from UK tattoo artists’ Instagram pages. Not a single one is from an actual gang member.
