For Dwayne, Denys, Derek, Michael, and Priest. We poured our hearts & souls onto these pages. Dreams may sometimes be deferred. But they never die. You cannot destroy an idea. New History of the DCU: The Dakota Incident is out NOW. If you're not there, you just won't get it.

New History of DC: Dakota Incident is 10/10. A new aspect of DC's history set in a key era. Something happened TO Dakota City & its heroes. This is part of Black Lightning & Static's story. Also De Landro's art respectfully calling back to the late John Paul Leon was such a nice touch. Congrats all!

"New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident #1 shapes the past and present of Milestone's heroes while building a future for them in the DC Universe." @josephpillidge.bsky.social #comicsky @stephwilliams.bsky.social @moellennial.bsky.social #NCBD Read @cjwritesstuff.bsky.social's review:

Happy birthday to the late great Dwayne McDuffie. Without Dwayne I guarantee I would not be in this line of work. He lit the fire, and it's my honor to keep it burning bright all these years later.

Buckle up...

Happy Black History Month

Now you can see what the legendary OG @denyscowan.bsky.social was talking about! Bat/Stat #3 out today!

My cover to the upcoming New Titans. @tatebrombal.bsky.social

12 panels from the end of our run on Titans. I wonder what’s gonna happen next…

256 pages. 17 covers. Thank you, Titans! It’s been fun!

IIRC, this is the first time something I've written for comics has sold out and gone back to press. I want to say thank you again for the support, especially during what's been an absolutely miserable year in so many ways. Some special things coming up in Bat/Stat, and maybe a small surprise or two.

Yeahh! Finally I can share my variant cover for Static and Batman Beyond! I had a lot of fun doing these two characters because I literally grew up watching them on tv after school! So ahhh I'm really excited about this cover! I hope you like it too! #staticshock #batmanbeyond #DCComics

Green Lantern Corps #14 is still a ways away... but Guy Gardner is coming back from DC KO a little... different. Meet THE ALLSIGHT, the most important man on Oa. Oh... and the bowl cut is back! Concept art by the great Fernando Pasarín.

My upcoming cover to New Titans ! @tatebrombal.bsky.social

I'm doing a series of variants for TITANS, first one with Cyborg for TITANS #33 =)

Good news if you missed the first issue of Batman/Static: Beyond #1... 2nd printing of the debut issue hits on February 4. Issue #2 is out next week on 12/24! (Makes a schway last-minute stocking stuffer, just saying) The dogs and I thank you.

Another round of great reviews for Titans 30. This one was important to me and I appreciate all the compliments immensely. And a big shout out to @brunoabd.bsky.social for helping out by drawing the Earth side scenes this issue. I couldn’t have done it without him!

DC Comics solicitations coming at noon et, #comicsky fans! #batman #superman #wonderwoman

Titans #29 by me and @thatpetewoods.bsky.social is out today!

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY: Brandon Thomas. If I can’t write Black Lightning, he's my choice. His “This is Why” from DC’s Saved by the Belle Reve #1 is the only time a DC writer made me believe Jeff Pierce joining President Luthor’s cabinet wasn’t insanely out of character for my creation. 11-6-25.

THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY: Black Lightning: The Standard by Brandon Thomas and Fico Ossio collects the five-issue series of which I wrote “This is authentic Black Lightning, honoring the creator’s basic vision while going into new, exciting and respectful territory.” I liked it a lot. 11-1-25.

I’m excited to work with Jeff Spokes on Wonder Woman #29 & #30. I love the Amazons, so I’m always down to visit Themyscira. It’s bittersweet. My bf loved Diana and was my biggest supporter when I was working on Nubia. Although he is no longer here, I still hear his excitement. Love you, Aaron 🫂
